Re: which way would you run the veins?
If u were running the grain left to right across your drawing your seams would be less visible. However unless u plan on seaming at the sink u will may be adding a seam. I’m from chicago and mostly believe in not seaming at the sink. Also, I tend to favor aligning the longest line of the material wi...

Great to hear when someone does it right. There are great ones out there
Key is recognizing it and holding onto em. Ain't nothing worse than dealing

You would be wise to sub out to someone with a bed polisher and start with honed

I always love a good lauzon short film! If mark didnt have stone in his veins
we would have lost him to music video industry Years ago. That or maybe like
Movie trailers. Man of many talents
That's some serious lineal edging.

Ambra dorata! I got a bundle on a container from marmi Bruno zanet like
10 years ago. It was sold as a quartzite and it was not very expensive
at all. We still have pieces around. Love the stone. Most do. Though it rarely sells
It's got those straight lines like stratico olympico or whatever it is.

Re: Fireplace glue
I think 60 degrees is not much of a step up. It id like 5 minute ABS vs 6 minute abs. Is there a case where the additional 60 degrees even matters? I think not based on the temperature being much hooter than 260. I would guess close to the 500* + range. Not sure how hot a fireplace gets. We typical...

Re: Sink Cutouts
Good question. For most ovals we are 3.8 in set back on 1.5"oh with 21" cabinet(negative reveal) Each sink is layed out before we cut in cad to account for minor adjustments. A good rule of thumb I've used as a benchmark is to try and allow for at least 2" from the wall to the back quadrant of a 1.3...

Re: Can someone explain 3 Step polishing pads?
How many folks comment on how white your teeth are? Most won't. If they are just off white, not terrible but a lil bisque chances are they won't even notice directly. But it's a part of the whole perception of beauty, or in the case of polished stone, quality workmanship. I'm not preaching believe m...

Re: Can someone explain 3 Step polishing pads?
I share ur confusion. It's like 6 minute abs. Once that came Along its like who wants to mess with 7 minute abs I think they are great for certain stones. Quartz mostly. Where I don't like them Is when one of the guys wastes them trying to cut corners on a good old fashioned Regular granite (blue pe...

Re: tool truck chicagoland
thanks dan,
half bull.
I have a couple but they are just worn and a little out of shape. Thanks for the offer but I just need one I can buy. I can make do with the worn ones with a little extra hand work if I have to.
just some insurance in case the cnc takes longer to get going again.

cuts hard with minimal chipping. polishes nice. i've had a couple cracks appear though through the fabbing. similar to the way they can in a marinachi. i actually found it easy to surface polish them out though. I did one on a sink rail in a customers house. went 500-3000 heated it up and it disappe...
