Re: Brown Latte Quartzite Issue
As Coop said. You have oil staining the edge of the stone there. Will need to pull the stove, poultice the edges of the countertops a few times to remove the oil, and then seal it with a really good sealer multiple times. Are those edges next to the stove completely polished? For as far as that stai...

Re: Need expert opinion regarding granite installation
I'd like to see some more overall pictures of the project. Also put a penny or a quarter or something next to those fill spots on the counters. It looks like you are really zoomed way in showing those spots but its difficult to get an idea of the scale to determine what we are looking at. The out of...

Re: Backlit Quartzite in a steam shower
I don't think it will be that difficult but there will be a lot of steps involved. Cement board/Wedi/Schluter board first. All edges, seams, and fasteners waterproofed. Wedi also requires a cost of steam shower sealer across everything also, not sure about the others. Schluter heat panels next. Ligh...

Re: Raised Top on 3/4" Panel
We have several times but that 3/4" panel needs to be really secure and solid. If you lean on the end of the corbels there shouldn't be any play in them otherwise they will have issues down the road. Any seams in the raised counter?

We have one we bought from GranQuartz with our Zoller cnc tool setter. Its basically a bench grinder with a tool collet in it. It does work well for what it is.

Re: Stone block cutting
Depends on what kind of saw is being used to cut the slabs off the block. Wire saws have a thinner kerf than a blade. After that its just math to determine yield on the slabs. The type of blade will also determine the amount of deflection you will get in the cut. With such a hard stone as that I wou...

Re: White Quartzite Fireplace Heat Stains
I will assume that the fireplace is a sealed glass unit so there isn't any way for the exhaust gases to escape the firebox. So I think that you are just dealing with a heat issue with the unit giving off too much heat into the stone. It very well may be that the stone was so heavily resined that the...

Re: Attaching stone to stainless steel
Bonstone T2000 is a really strong epoxy for bonding the tops to stainless steel. It is slow setting and should give you plenty of time to get the pieces set. Integra or similar for the seams and waterfall miter seams.

I have KN95 masks available if anyone needs some
My local hospital and medical clinics were critically low on masks so I reached out to my contacts overseas and were able to purchase 6,000 KN95 masks for them. But they got held up in Chinese customs for 2 months. By the time I received them the medical clinics didn't want them anymore as they had ...

Re: Increased water flow, does it affect how well the polish comes out?
It would depend on what your polish looks like now, and what your tooling looks like. Sometimes you can tell the tools need more water and then a system like this may help.
Do you know what your current water flow rate is through the spindle? Or what your water pressure is?

Re: Green Stain Granite - Doubtful it's Green Bloom - Please Help
Yep, that looks like a rust stain to me. I'd apply a chemical from Lithofin called Bero to it. Its a good strong rust remover for stone. It will darken the area for about a week but that's a good thing, it soaks down into the stone to dissolve the original iron in the stone that caused the rust in t...

I have a small 2cm remnant from about 20 years ago. I've never seen it since but good luck finding it!
I do remember it being exceptionally hard when we cut it way back when.

Re: Blue Bahia Problems
Blue Bahia can etch as obviously seen in the pictures. The etching is not caused by vacuum pods during the fabrication process. It is most likely due to spills in the customers home such as fruit juices, and cleaning products. The round etch was from a glass that had condensation on it and was left ...

Re: Granite Shield with Life Time Warranty????
If it is a sealer it won't fix a gritty granite issue. You need a thin resin such as Tenax Pectro to lock in the minerals that are shedding.
I haven't ever used that sealer so I can't comment on its effectiveness. But we have had great success with Tenax ProSeal with zero issues.

Re: Belly/ divit in bowl cut outs
Several possibilities lead to the bump at the lead in/lead out for cutouts. Your tooling is glazed and needs to be retrued so its not removing as much stone as it is supposed to. Too much deflection in the head Too high of a feed rate that the tooling can't remove. Not enough water on the tooling ca...

Re: Etching Letters
We run a PCD cutter on our cnc to do lettering, but it needs really high rpm's to work properly. I'm not sure that a saw motor would be able to spin the needed rpm's to use this type of bit.
Maybe a small diameter core bit would work in your case depending on how many letters you need to do.

Re: MITER ON QUARTZITE HELP
How much material are you trying to remove in each pass? You may have to take smaller bites of stone with each pass to lessen the load on the tooling.
But some quartzites are just chippy stones. We saw most all of our miters and some turn out perfect and sone can be a bit chippy.

If MSI is looking at importing containers of ES with glass as an aggregate then I assume they would have done all the required checks on possible patent infringement. A company as large as that would have a lot to lose if they are eventually found liable of violating a patent.
