I've used small claims court before with success. It is easier than most think.

I would be surprised if they don't settle before court. The time and effort to appear in court will not be worth it to them. They will just require you to to keep quite about it.

We supplied the material and we did send a slab layout but you can't really tell by the slab layout where the fissures are as the fissures look similar to all the other stuff.

Without a shadow of a doubt, heat can cause a great deal of expansion and contraction in quartz. I know first hand as we applied heat to the quartz to speed up the process to remove a bow.
