K Bond penetrating polyester has been the thinnest I've used.

That's pretty crazy. I can't imagine hauling that monster in from the surf.
I forget how much fun that kind of fishing can be.

Re: What does quality mean to you?
Quality of service is a big part of the mix. In some cases, on time completion or simple phone support may be more important than super shine edges. Unless we're just trying to impress ourselves. Poor quality is easy to spot. For me, it's usually these: Highly visible seams. Inadequate support. Obvi...

How much time available to work glaxs before
It goes off? I was under the impression it was just a few minutes.
Seems like that would put you under pressure getting all your clamps on.

I agree. You should be fully convinced before any purchase.
I am not convinced with the crusher.
I was just speaking up about a friend's credibility.
I thought, him being in our shoes, was worth noting. Rather than just another salesperson.

Re: What to do with small remnants
If the stone is not big enough for a vanity, it will go in the stone dumpster at our shop. Space and handling is costly. The only exception for us are white marbles. I keep a stash off untagged odd pcs. There seems to be a constant call for seats, shelves, etc. from Carrara and other types. I am alw...

It's always a blast! For us it's a 3 hr boat ride before we're in the gulfstream though.
We haven't been out in a while, and I'm really missing that deep blue water.

Re: Careful Brian B !!! Round 1 to the Marlin
I just saw this post Chris.
That video freaked me out too. The boat looks eerily familiar as its going down.
If we ever hook a billfish, it's not gonna happen like that!
Does it make you wanna go out again?

I've never seen a Noce with any kind of altered finish that would require edge treatment like that.

Re: fabrication tables wood
I love my wood tables. I've worked on both. The biggest thing to me is they are a whole lot cleaner. Your operator will see what I mean. I've never had a problem with the wood dulling the blade. We have to mill down every 2 or three months. The other day, I had to mill some splashes thinner.... 3 " ...

Re: Festo
Turned out that the problem wasn't the sensor.
The cylinder was just for some reason stuck in locked position.
I disconnected it's two air lines, tried table movement, it moved 6" then stopped. i then reconnected air lines, restarted machine, and everything worked fine. Beats me.

Yep. It's a much needed break!
I just want to make sure that there won't be any more hand cutting going on when we get back.
First pce ran just fine, but the top is stuck in the booth. Ha!
I'll get it.

Re: Festo
Thanks Eric. I am looking for a sensor needed for my machine's table movement.
I have put in a call to Festo. No response, not surprised this time of year.
I didn't know if these were common Cnc components and maybe someone had a spare sensor around. It looks like they are not common on other cnc's.

Re: Soft Quartz/ Rubber Scratching
I use carpet on rodding tables. Just change it out every so often. More often, I see scratching from guys using a lift device to stack pcs onto an a frame or cart. They will hold it away from the stone already on cart until the last couple of inches on the way down. I bought a bunch of fake plastic ...

Re: Super White
I know the consensus is that it is quartzite, and of course should be extremely hard.
I recently had to cut a couple of bowls , by hand, in Super White. Two different lots, 4 bath sinks, all cut very much like marble. Seriously, not much different than say Calacutta. I was surprised.
