Re: oscillating tool
I have had very good luck using ADI's MFP5 oscillating to reduce linear lines. You need to keep your tools dressed and maintained for best results. You want therm to take off as little as possible.

Re: switching from clay/resin wheels to rubber
It is about .004 to .006 of an inch between ripples in your stone and a nice polish. Set them up light and run them in a few hundred feet, then re-adjust. Unlike a Magic/Clay wheel, you will want these to hit as light as possible but touch the whole profile.

Re: Why are my oscillated eased tools pausing in z
In the other thread you started about this someone mentioned that some of these machines use Stonevision/Alphacam to generate the oscillation or the Fanuc control does it. Which one is this machine trying to use?

What are the specific problems with the cut? If the c axis is not set dead perpendicular, the blade will drag. Is the kerf wider and blade paint wearing unevenly? A out of whack C would not make cuts that have a bow in them I don't think, however play in it (is it antibacklash?) or the overall rigi...

Sometimes the keys get an electronic charge and they get fried. Alphacam will sell you a new key, but they will also tell you that this is the reason for their mateinence program. If you are on their program, keys are free.

Re: Tool Cone Stuck in Spindle
Hit your tool release button and hit the cone with a dead blow mallet. If you machine something hard, sometimes the excess force can jam your tool in the spindle. Make sure to hit it and then spin before you hit it again.

Check the Actual Voltage going to your machine. Spikes or Drops in voltage is usually the culprit when you start frying things in your cabinet.

they took off the spindle speed knob after your vintage and before mine. Too many people destroyed tools with that knob. it can be dangerous. The function is still there, but it is kinda hidden in the Fanuc Keys that no one seems to ever use.

below the jog key on the Fanuc's you will see 2 keys with a + and a - on them. These will drop your spindle speed while working.
