Fabrication tools for a small shop.
Greetings all! Since I mainly focus on kitchen and bath remodels, I don't have much use for my fabrication tools anymore. Here is what I'm interested in selling. Everything is still in reasonable condition and should provide someone with good backup tools or for a small startup shop. I don't have pr...

Re: Michael Reis
I looked forward to reading his Stone World articles each month because it motivated me to be better and more informed in the industry. Although I only met him once at Stone Expo, he was friendly, cordial and full of enthusiasm. My condolences to his family and loved ones.

What a bunch of crap.
What is the SFA brotherhood's concerted effort going to be? Sign the petition mentioned above, send a message to Maple, send a message directly to Consentino, or ???

Re: Looking to buy an A-frame Transport Rack
Thanks Mark. I was hoping to find a used one but it appears that my search may be in vain. I'll keep you in mind if I have to buy a new one.

Re: Wanted: Lead installer in Washington State
Would you consider a subcontract option versus a full time employee? I'm not interested in moving to Wenatchee but maybe we can work something out for any jobs you have that are south of you.

Re: SFA Workshop in Butler PA
Looks like fun and ... uh ... educational. (There sure are a lot of food pictures!) Seriously though, I hope to make it to one of the workshops here in the Pacific NW coast. If the timing is right maybe we can charter a fishing boat and grill up some fresh caught salmon or albacore tuna afterw...

Again. That must be a slow project, I bid that one almost 2 years ago. Must be a government job.

Re: contour saw - repair or replace
Thanks all. I was going to wait till Monday to call a repair shop but at $100 to repair the Alpha, I'll replace it with something else.

contour saw - repair or replace
I have a Alpha AWS125 that I mainly use for sink cut outs. The bearing are starting to go so I'm debating whether or not to repair or replace it. I didn't get the number of hours of use out of that I expected but its been a decent saw. Has anyone used a different contour saw that they would recommend?

Re: SFA on a smart phone
Using the browser on the Droid is decent but is a bit of a pain (for me) to use on forums. To keep the text size large enough to read means that I have too scroll back and forth across the screen to read. To minimize the browser to fit the screen means I can't read the text without cheaters (althoug...

Re: Repairing cracks
Thanks all for the advice. I certainly am not going to jump into these uneducated. I plan to create my own samples in the shop and test some theories before attempting any of these. I want to do a A+ job or not attempt them at all. During my previous tenure in the SFA, I wasn't able to participate i...

Repairing cracks
I got two calls recently to look at some cracked tops. So, I visited the homes yesterday and the symptoms are exactly the same. Un-rodded cutouts (drop in stove and sink) and unsupported (no shims) edge. One kitchen had the some of the best seams I've ever seen. One seam was in the middle of the sto...

Re: SFA on a smart phone
So, my first complaint with this app is not being able to reply to private messages or create new ones. The second is no smileys.

SFA on a smart phone
Since I spend more time on my phone than the laptop, I'm hoping to find an app to access the forum. Does anyone here have smartphone app to access the SFA forum, such as Tapatalk? I can use the browser, but it's not as easy to use.
