Hi Jim,
Nothing will hurt the soapstone, we resand all our slabs before installing. 80,120 sometimes 220 grit and thats it. Match the finish to one of these grits and go over the whole slab.

This comment is so late it probably doesnt matter anymore, but we have cut some real hard quartzites with our Accuglide saw and miter system. It is amazing! I bought two Xtreme Haulers in Vegas 5 or 7 years ago ,one with bike wheels and one with lower wheels.Never really used the lower solid wheels but I use the bike wheel one all the time! I'm wondering what others are using for setting slab shower walls and lids over floated mud? White modified thinset is what ive always used plus wire anchoring.Polyester knife grade,poly epoxy,a,b epoxy?
