Re: Arrow pattern in standard flat ADI polish
To me it appears as if the tool isn't really tight to the cone and perhaps is being drug around in some spots. It is possible on a polisher

Re: Cutting quartzite
The Blade RPM, Alignment of the C and B axis, and water are the three main culprits of cutting quartzites. The other two are having the right blade, and if the blade you have is out of tension. A laundry list here I know. Our experience on the Fusions mostly come down to water and alignment. If the ...

Re: having issues with small vanities moving on CNC when fingering a sink cutout
Part of your problem may be science. I looked up your company and found one in Colorado. Altitude may negate you to running a smaller diameter finger bit that is a softer bond and slower feedrate to reduce the cutting pressure. You will lose life but not pieces. I wouldn’t run anything larger than a...

Re: Good mill bit for quartzite - found!
The bit he is referring to is the Terminator G5 finger bits nor CNC routers. It is not an incremental bit. In his scenario and all my customers we are using it in one pass at 5-6”/min at 3500 RPM

Re: Clearing the air on Terminator Zares optical Tool Pre-setter
Hi Sean. We do this this three ways. First, by you simply importing the dxf drawing of your tool that ADI would hopefully give you. Second, use the already accumulated ADI tool library we have already made for The ADI Tools our customers are already using. Three, we scan your tools profile on your m...

Re: "Slow down in corners" causing indents
I know about the "Look Ahead" option as a way to manage older Northwood machines circa before 2007. I have never heard of this issue since as they have this option enabled by default. Are you seeing this on a new machine, and that it fixed your problem by turning it on?

Here is the Facebook post that allows for easy viewing of the videos. I will try to post somethings in here to see if they will be allowed to post. The first item is our 35mm quartzite core drill.

*SOLD*. 12” Bridge Saw blades with 15mm segments
These are some blades I have personally left over from 2015 and were designed for the original Northwood SawJets that ran 12” blades. I have 12 available.
$105/blade or if someone wants them all them all $1080.00 which equals $90/blade
These blades cut really well to the core.

Blick Surface Table or Pod repair Cutter
I personally have a 6 insert type blick surface cutter with both heightadpaters (long and short) available. The tool has only been used three times, and only on aluminum tables. Everything is included as you see. Here is the List. (1) Blick 6 insert surface table cutter (1) Extra Pack of inserts (1)...

Re: Do you have Backlash?????
Thank you Robbie. The previous post from Anthony as I understood it is how we check repeatability. Making a program to go back and forth is not going to check backlash. Again, another more simple statement is for rack and pinion backlash is, the gap between the meshing of the gears is what you are c...

Re: Do you have Backlash?????
BackLash in its truest form is the residual mechanical movement between the driving gear and the receiving end, the rack. In Northwoods case it is a ballscrew. The nut and the screw. Compensation at the controller is NOT designed to compensate for large amounts of backlash. The most when I worked fo...

Re: Lf on 8 hrs. shift for a cnc (profile edge only)
That’s awesome you are doing those things now. I for the life of me don’t understand why machine guys use closed loop cooling systems on these small vacuum pumps. Basically doing what you are doing now is all you can do, other than building your own swamp style radiator to cool them down. The key is...

Bob, I know you have ran every tool under the sun. I also know you are happy about the edges in the beginning but don’t want to stop to do the maintenance it takes to maintain that quality. I also have been to your shop and made suggestions to you to help your efficiency and those suggestions never ...

Re: Lf on 8 hrs. shift for a cnc (profile edge only)
Hey Bob. A foot a minute is high. Remember my numbers don’t give any tool change times, no super z or fingerbit times, no account of the few seconds of z depth travel time in between pieces, and no load and unload times. In an eight hour shift and based upon my experience I have seen up to 220 squar...

Re: Lf on 8 hrs. shift for a cnc (profile edge only)
It does depend. But here is an example. This does not include tool changes. I will go worst case and best case. Worst case Ogee (8 tools) Best case Eased (7 tools). Ogee edge can be done at 12.96 linear inches per minute of finished product. Eased can be done at 16.67 linear inches per minute. This ...

Re: Warning Windows 7 auto update
As per Robbie’s statement. The update in question is the Update KB4093118 and it will put your CNC in a constant reboot loop. I was told it was an update dated April 11. However, mine was dated April 12, but being a computer guy, I cautiously ran the updates one by one and rebooted each update to se...

Re: BVC Pod Height
Okay Klint, Andy is correct on measuring the pods as intended. If the BVC cups have a removable seal then it needs to be fully seated before checking. It does not have to be vacuum to do this though. It can simply be weight. Vacuumed against a ridged flat plate would put any doubt out of the equatio...

Re: Green pod accuracy tolerance
Pod accuracy is a big deal. I have never seen a Blick pod out of spec. We carry the BVC cups also and only can say that they are not interchangeable with blick pods. Most of my edge issues are with machines being out of level, and pod setups by the programmers. The programmer where I was just at thi...

New Terminator Nano Q2-S cutting and mitering Taj-Mahal in one pass on 2 and 3cm. We are getting results back from Alex at 48"/min at very low loads in one pass. It will go faster on 3cm. Here at Jame's shop we were cutting Taj Mahal at 101"/min at 1750 rpm with only 4&5 amps above idle. See the Fac...
