Re: 2 part glue removal
To answer the original question - most glues/adhesives will usually come off/out in a few days with regular bathing.

Re: Customer upset about seam through sink.
It doesn't matter what your contract says. Any and all contracts are subject to litigation = useless. I have never had or needed a contract other than a well explained estimate, my word (education), and a handshake. In the 10 years I was in business I lost 1 potential customer to not having a contra...

Re: Customer upset about seam through sink.
Any time a customer has an issue like this it is completely on you for not educating them on what to expect in the final product. Communication is key.

Re: Is this man an idiot?
I had an issue with that at a warehouse in Charlotte, NC. I saw the guys in there moving 2 at once and told them not to do that with my slabs - sure enough they did it and broke one of my 3 matching slabs. Luckily there were 4 left in that bundle and they could grab another but it was right after I ...

Re: faucet 3" to the right and not centered with window sill
The current set-up is correct as it can be in a situation like this - a kitchen in a very tight space.
Maybe the window can be moved to the center of the cabinetry.

Most of the time it is either lack of communication between customer and shop or a salesmen type who wants to please a customer for the minute to make a sale and will agree to anything to get a deposit check.

Re: Cry for HELP!! Kitchen faucet hole in wrong place??
I have to agree with Dan R (and that almost never happens) that if you wanted a faucet centered on the sink and cabinet you needed to get a 50/50 sink. There simply is not enough room behind the sink in the center of the sink especially with a stone backsplash anyone can see that.

Re: Boosting city water pressure
Adding a tank and a shallow well pump will work for you depending on the volume of water you need to feed. Most plumbing supply stores carry well pumps. Once you know the gpm and pressure you need the plumbing supply store can spec out the right pump for you. Just try to either get a self priming pu...

Re: Oil stain in marble
I agree that poultice often takes more than one application but the other question is did you let the poultice sit covered up until it was dry? Be sure to follow proper procedure and give the poultice time to do what it does. Most people are not patient enough to let it do its thing. Be sure the oil...

That is amazing. The patience you must have to do that. I have hand carved queen ann legs out of walnut and mahogany wood but I cannot imagine knocking out the scrap with a chisel and hammer on stone without breaking it. Wood is much more forgiving.

Re: Problems with Leathered Absolute Black Granite
You will be hard pressed to find any product that enhances stone and is not a "sealer". The manufacturers of these product may or may not call them "sealers" but in some way they all seal or fill the pores of the stone no matter how small they are. You are being lead down a path of futility.

Re: Problems with Leathered Absolute Black Granite
"The conventional wisdom is that AB WILL NOT ACCEPT sealer. To advise otherwise seems reckless, imo." Conventional (wisdom?) is safer but we also know not all stones called AB are the same material. Therefore if you apply sealer and remove the excess properly you are adding a margin of safety....."i...

Re: Problems with Leathered Absolute Black Granite
AB will accept some sealer but the excess needs to be buffed away. You will see more finger prints from a poor job of applying too much sealer than not sealed at all. The excess sealer needs to be buffed off with a wool bonnet like a car buffer after it is applied and allowed to sink in. Most design...

but I'm sick of dealing with courts at my stage of life. I'd rather deal with the matter myself or give pretend the problem's not there and just live with it. Re: Oversized Island Fee
I agree that an additional charge or more labor charge is in order but the price you are charging is high and starts too low in the sq. ft size. I installed a blue pearl sized 5' x 7 1/2' island a few weeks ago with one helper with only 2 steps to go up using the Omni cubed wheels. It was scary and ...

On the first black granite repair did you add some sharpie before the adhesive? It almost looks blue instead of natural black. You don't need to add color usually to the chip with the UV cure repair kits.

Re: Absolute Black Pitting
I have had great luck with the acrylic UV scratch repair kits. The adhesive is thinner and seems to hold better than the super thin CA or its because of the curing sheets that make the adhesive smoother when you razor the excess off. If you have put all that waxy junk you listed on the tops to hide ...

Keep them as a backup as long as you have the extra room. Lately, I have been using all the stuff I didn't need when I was in business before and parts of broken tools come in handy to fix stuff.
