Re: 5 axis incremental bit
This was something posted recently on the Facebook page. That's a blade segment embedded in someone's arm. Why risk it?

Re: 5 axis incremental bit
That's pretty bad. I would try turning your RPMs up to 5500-6000 and take half your cut depth likes Alex suggested above. I think we are running 5500 rpm, .02" depth, at 60 ipm on a terminator bit. We still get some chipping/blowout but not nearly as bad as what you posted. We also have a Thibaut T...

Re: SEAMS ON OUR COUNTERTOP
Thank you to all. Those are all very helpful information. I think I will keep the seams in the original drawing. Another question is about the seams behind the range top. My fabricator will do a whole piece on the range top side without any seams. Will it be a weak points behind the range top and h...

Re: Breton vs Park Industries
I don't think you can go wrong with either. They both service some massive shops across the country. The majority of the problems you encounter will most likely stem from operator error, especially if you are new to automation. Like Dave said, availability of parts to minimize downtime is something ...

Re: Titan 2800 (Park) Laser cal mirror fogging out fast
Start covering them or removing them once the calibration is done. When I toured park, I noticed on the training Titan they had flip over covers to protect the bauble from slurry and water. On my intermac though we just pull the pins after we've calibrated.

Re: ADI tools rated for 400 inches a minute?
Someone posted a video on Facebook of supposedly running at 400 ipm and I believe there's a few other guys here doing it also, but I'm fairly confident that will only be possible with a tool setter like a Zoller or Zares. You need to be removing the absolute minimum amount of material necessary reac...

Re: Polishing Pads Question
We've primarily used Terminator pads. In my opinion, brand doesn't seem to make a difference if your buying premium pads. We use Alpha Ceramicas for surface polishing, white resin pads for quartz and light colored stones, and Terminator zooms for everything else. Braxton has a nice 4 step set we exp...

Re: having issues with small vanities moving on CNC when fingering a sink cutout
Seeing as you are new to the CNC world, "correct speed" varies. My last machine could only run a few of the smaller diameter finger bits reliably, and at about 70% of the catalog speeds. When I'm greater than -25 psi on my intermac I'm watching the finger bit and super z like a hawk. We consistently...

Re: Belly/ divit in bowl cut outs
Ben: You're gonna need to be spot on with your tooling measurements and speeds. A couple things that will help is to change your starting position for each tool or change your overlap setting on the tools in ICam. They are typically more noticeable when the tools wear if they are wearing uneven or n...

It looks like a marking from a transport rack with a rubber protector on the horizontal supports. I don't see anything in the first picture, but the rib marks in the second one looks like a few other photos posted here in the past. Was that piece transported face to frame by chance?

Re: Abaco opinions
I'm unfamiliar with the abaco vacuum lifter, but most people recommend manzelli for the price point. We have had an anver for quite a while, but I've been less than thrilled with them. We knew we needed to get parts for it and couldn't get a return call after calling the service line 3 or 4 times. W...

If it's moisture in the same try some heat. A heat gun might work, but a torch will pull it faster.

Re: Must I really have a seam
I'm not sure what conditions based on what you've presented would require a seam. Quartz is easier to install as it weighs slightly less and is typically more forgiving for an installer, especially with proper technique. Since you are going to have splashes I wouldn't accept a seam.

There's been lots of good advice, one other thing I'd suggest is becoming a member. There's a lot of information in the members lounge that isn't shared in the general forum. Chase your bottleneck and figure out what your budget is or if you go the financing route, you'll need to figure out how much...

Re: Water filtration
We built our own bag filter system. We are into it maybe $200 for parts. It's definitely not ideal for the water volume we are currently dealing with but that wasn't really an issue for us until we added a CNC saw. If you're all manual, a bag system would most likely be a decent option for you.

Re: Reduce oversize hole
Last time I had to deal with something like this I did what Mark suggested, but I drilled a larger core, then tapered it like a cone. Glued it in then surface polished it smooth. All said and done it was slightly visible standing in front of the sink (like what Kowboy posted) but most of the visibil...
