It is not clear to me where your rods are located in the installed pieces, but I am guessing that they are in positions where the stone is relatively narrow, like at the front or rear edge of a sink. I am puzzled by the pits in your Volga Blue, because it is nearly mono-mineralic. Geologically it is an anorthosite, composed largely of labradorite, a calcium-sodium aluminosilicate mineral. Gents, I must polish 2 old white marble dresser tops, 12-13 sqft total. Conditions range from sub-gloss to coarser-than-honed on the pieces; they also are from 0.003"-0.013" out of flat.
