Re: Park Fusion 4045SL Nothing but problems
We change focus tubes about once every 6 weeks, high pressure seals every 100 working hours or so, hydraulic seals a couple times in almost 4 years, high pressure lines whenever they blow. That's it. Anything else comes from you crashing the machine. The amount of maintenance is going to be about t...

Park Fusion 4045SL Nothing but problems
I don't know how anyone makes any money using these machines, but my Fusion 4045SL has been a huge time consumer when it comes to anything but production. Sure, I can mass produce tops... for a little while. Then I'll have something go wrong or need maintained. Then the machine is down until that's ...

Re: Fusion 4045SL HUGE pile of garnet
Finished doing what I said I would do. So far I'm maybe 35% certain that it might be fixed. So it's a "cross your fingers & hope" situation. Did a test run of jet cutting while monitoring the mini-hopper. Started at 35psi & that wasn't enough, as the mini-hopper drained after 2 minutes of cutting & ...

Re: Fusion 4045SL HUGE pile of garnet
Spoke with Park again. I think I've got it narrowed down to two things (at least, these are the most likely things we can think of): The way the garnet hose was installed is causing the problem (the braided hose from the bottom of the large hopper that goes into the mini-hopper). From what they've t...

If you mean the line that goes from the mini hopper to the nozzle, that's barely a month old.Joe Durfee wrote: ↑Wed Jan 03, 2018 2:32 pmMy guess, you have a hole in the line. Garnet is abrasive, it wears through tubing.

If not that line, which one should I look at? This happened when the machine was in the home position

Re: Fusion 4045SL HUGE pile of garnet
Finality spoke to them. By the end of the conversation, they guessed that it could be a number of things like air pressure, moisture, resistance in the lines, the hopper might be dirty, there could be surging in the lines, the temperature and humidity at my location at the time, or any combination o...

Fusion 4045SL HUGE pile of garnet
I don’t know how this (see pictures) happened or even the exact time that it happened, but I’ll try to walk you through the order of events & see if anything stands out to you. This huge pile of garnet (approx. 1 whole bag) was noticed this morning, after the machine was turned on & normal start up ...

Antonio Mantello B8 Bullnose machine
I've got a bullnose machine my company needs gone. It's a 1996 model & has a lot of pads that come with it as well as accessories (though many of them are rusty). I'm putting some pictures with this post so you can see what it is. We're wanting to get a line polisher to put in it's place. Asking pri...

Re: Does this Quartzite have another name?
Ah HA! Searching Blue Celeste lead me to another stone called Lumen Onyx (which is also listed as Lumen Marble & even Lumen Quartzite). Thanks Alex DiPietro! Now... hopefully I can find some of these slabs.

A marble that can be illuminated? Is it not large chunks of solid quartz crystal that the light is passing through?Alex DiPietro wrote: ↑Thu Dec 07, 2017 11:49 amThat's not a quartzite. It's brazilian mable. Look for azul cielo, blue celeste, sparkling blue

Does this Quartzite have another name?
I just had a customer come in & ask me if we had any Lunar Vision Quartzite. He showed me the pictures & I haven't seen this color before. So I do a google image search. No results for Lunar Vision look anything like these slabs. Does it have another name? Or is it just super rare?

Elipse Polishing System - Anyone ever try it?
So I've seen these for years now & never tried them. Has anyone on here tried them? Would you recommend them? Are they better than standard pads, or about the same?

Re: Cutting Glass tile with Fusion waterjet
Tempered glass will not be cut or drilled or water jetted. Once a piece of glass is tempered it is not possible to alter the shape in any way. Perhaps glass tiles have some residual tempering from the manufacturing process but without seeing the broken pieces I could not tell. There is no reason th...

Re: Cutting Glass tile with Fusion waterjet
So I read somewhere else online that it's a good idea to put a sacrificial piece of material on top of the glass to absorb the initial pierce. So I put some 2cm Uba Tuba on top. That did the trick! It's a pretty jagged looking cut because the jet has to stay 2cm away from the actual glass, but it's ...

Re: Cutting Glass tile with Fusion waterjet
So I just went over to the tile store (sister store) & asked them if they knew whether or not these particular tiles were tempered glass & they said that "99% of glass tile is tempered so they can be cut with a tile saw." Well... apparently not for electrical box cutouts because that's why they were...

Re: Cutting Glass tile with Fusion waterjet
Have you tried reducing the pierce pressure down? i would start really low then work your way up. [ This is not something I was taught in Park Industries' course when we bought this machine. Is this something I would do in Alphacam while programming the cut, or is this something I would change on t...

Re: Cutting Glass tile with Fusion waterjet
Have you tried a porcelain blade on the sawing portion of the machine? The pressure of the jet probably is too much for that small of a piece.... [ I haven't tried using the blade at all for this because they're just electrical box cutouts. The holes are really not big enough for a blade to do anyt...

Cutting Glass tile with Fusion waterjet
So my boss' other business was installing these wavy glass tiles on a job & they needed to cut electrical box holes in the tiles. But every time they tried to do so, the tiles were splitting. So he asked me to see if I could cut them on our Fusion. So I set it up, snapped a pic with the overhead cam...

Re: Garnet for Fusion: HPA vs HPX
Park ended up sending out a tech to see what was going on & help with a bunch of other unrelated issues as well. What the tech said the likely culprit of the little piles of garnet are caused by ended up being a possible combination of issues. Due to the small size of our shop & the location in whic...

Re: Wishy-Washy Customers (post deposit)
if they want you to bring in more slabs again, I would get them to commit more money before you order the slabs - tell them that they need to put down another 25%, or at least tell them that to order a second round of slabs they will need to pay a delivery fee for the slabs since you paid the first...

Wishy-Washy Customers (post deposit)
I'm having a wave of wishy-washy customers all at once. What I mean specifically is: people who have already put down a deposit for their job, but for some reason or another, won't make the final decisions to even allow fabrication to begin. I have never run into so many customers at once doing this...
