Re: Flush mount cooktop gap
2mm gap all around. Always talk people out of it. If they are adamant we show them this picture and get them to sign an acknowledgment that there will be a 2mm gap on all sides.

Re: Spindle Rebuild Issues - Please weigh in
With a belt driven spindle there is a couple of factors that need to be taken into account when rebuilding. The bearings in a belt driven spindle are ‘angular’ or ‘contact’ (forgive me if I’m not using the correct terminology for stateside). So there is a top and a bottom side. The bearings must be ...

Re: Best 2D digital templator
A very generic question.
We run four proliners. For us we found them to be the best option available and the one which will provide the least mistakes from newbies.
Try find some local shops that are templating digitally and see if you can tag along for a day or a few hours to see them in action.

Re: having issues with small vanities moving on CNC when fingering a sink cutout
Is the top moving on the pods or are the pods on the table moving? We use mechanical clamps as well as suctions on all of our tops except edged islands. If you’re set up already with block pods I think I seen they had a clamping pod which could be worth investing in. I’ve found running finger bits t...

Re: 6' Overhang into Waterfall
Not sure why my other pictures didn’t post in my second reply. Please see them showing the steel. First set of pictures is 100mm Second set is 70mm Both times we used 20mm thick quartz. Just to be clear we didn’t get involved in the design of the steel, the manufacturing of it or the sign off on old...

Re: 6' Overhang into Waterfall
Thank you Dave, very much appreciated. I had almost forgotten about another one we had done where I’ve got pictures of the frame used. This one spans roughly 2400mm without any units below. I’ve added the shop drawing done for this. This one was not fully mitred or boxed in underneath as per the req...

Re: 6' Overhang into Waterfall
Here is one we completed in quartz. I will try find the shop drawing we used. We had box steel used on the inside of the mitred quartz and it was bolted into the ground on the waterfall leg and also bolted to the ground in the units.
The underside of the overhang is fully mitred also.

Re: Silestone Integrity Sinks???
We have done a fair few of these. We do not mitre them. We cut back the underside of the quartz to 4mm and make the opening the same size as the sink. Glue sink in place and bevel and polish the top.

Re: Proliner noobie looking for some tips and some overall knowledge!
Not sure on the stairs part, I measure them in 2d. Rarely use Multiple planes, if I am doing a counter and full backsplash I prefer to measure twice, one drawing for the counters and a second for the backsplash. The settings for measuring shouldn't really change from set-up. The settings for exporti...

Re: Warning! Blanco Sinks dxf files are not correct!
Got caught a couple of times with Pryamis sinks. We pushed the supplier and he compensated us for the cost of the remake. We now bring all sinks back to our shop and dry fit them before they leave. Better to catch the mistake in the shop than on site. But yeah, model numbers should change when facto...

Don’t know if they’re open to third party work. But isn’t there a group of monks building their own monastery. Work like that should surely be well achievable to them.

Re: LT 2D3D
I have used the Proliner and also the original LT55 and have to say the Proliner is not a patch on the 2d3d...more bulky and not as user friendly. The Disto's we have are also not as user friendly as the 2d3d, specially when it comes to splashbacks, [ One thing I've noticed from the sales pitch of ...

Re: Line polishers?
Thanks, all out work eased. The last bullnose I did was about 7 years ago in Corian lol. The Comandulli we'd be looking at is the Speedy 8 i think, or the cheaper Proform one http://www.proformnz.co.nz/index.php?page=Ezy-Flat-Polisher. Although their belt fed LCH looks a better machine. [ If you're...

We have two belt polishers and yes I agree they can take up a lot of space depending on your feed in and feed out tables. We have always ran Comandulli but today our new machine from Prussiani was loaded. We will have it installed by the end of the month and could let you know how we feel about it. ...
