More Quartzite issues
Second post in two weeks, slightly different material this time. Sea Pearl, was left in the shop over the weekend to go out for Monday install. Came back Monday morning and found this brown stain. You can see where the backsplash was laid in front of it. Does anyone know what could have caused this ...

Quartzite Staining FUN
Hey Stonies, I think this Quartzite is crap and I'm not surprised this is happening. Dark spots that look like water absorption around the vanity. Does anyone have a suggestion on why this is happening and a good solution to remove? I figured I'd use some plastic wrap and poultice powder. Photo is i...

Need to fix a crack
This may seem a little elementary but my installers are struggling with a crack in granite behind the sink of an older house. Its about 7 inches long and about 1/16" wide in two places. Its large. Biggest concern is water getting into the cabinet below. My first thought is to run penetrating glue th...

Disinfectant on Calacatta Gold
Hey all,
I am looking for a recommended disinfectant cleaner that will be safe on Calacatta. I saw Fred's post about using household items, but wondering if there is something to use without compromising the marble.

Sealing Engineered Quartz
Hello everyone, Wanted to know if anyone is sealing engineered stone these days I recently had a customer contact me expressing their frustration with how their MSI Q (not surprised) was staining. I reached out to MSI who assumed this customer must be very messy, and that the Quartz shouldn't be sta...

2cm Porcelain
Wanted to get some thoughts on this new 2cm "Thru body" porcelain.
Definitely not a thru body material, I'm not sure why we were told that. Is there something i'm missing here?
What advantages are there with using 2cm opposed to 12mm in this case?
thanks!

Re: Flush mount cooktop gap
Thanks Mark, I did the same. They say there is supposed to be a 1/16" gap with some variance. The gap we have is closer to an 1/8". A little big but I have to explain to the client it is normal I suppose.

Flush mount cooktop gap
Hello everyone, Can anyone tell me what the tolerance is for a flush mount cooktop? I have a customer who is not happy with the 1/8" gap on all 4 sides of her cooktop, my first thought is that we can use silicone to fill the gap. Its obviously very tricky to get a prefect fit but perhaps the gap sho...
