My new Sirio

Mike showed up today and got right to work welding, leveling, measuring and some head rubbing. We could have done better setting the steel runners. But Mike is a trooper and he made everything flat and level. Tomorrow @ 7:00 am we will be placing the machine on the tracks. After that, I guess there will be some electrical, air and water hook ups. I will have Donna post some pics.

Anna, I do not know. I am just a midwest boy, ain't never seen anything like that stuff before.

We leathered our first slab, and it was a piece of cake. Mike is great to work with. We have a full day (Saturday) of training to teach everyone in the shop how to use it. It should be a fun day.

We are pretty comfortable leathered (unpolished textured) and Caress (polished textured) slabs. We will be taking jobs in starting Monday. I will make up some samples, for my other "branches".

I wish I could post tactile samples in this thread. The finishes are spectacular, from leather to caress and many combination in between. It has helped sales already (2 jobs).

The finishes possible are amazing, okay, they are just new to me. Brushing, Caressing, honing... I know they have been around for ever, but now I can do it to any stone when I want. Our Sirio has installed for about a full week. I can not stop playing with it. Some of the finishes are incredible. Pictures don't do it justice, you need to touch it, to truly experience it. So when Nick gets a scratch and sniff in his photo room then I'll post some pics. When you stand in front of the samples and you HAVE to touch them over and over again. It is crazy, I have never been drawn to stone in such a way before. I hope that it will have the same effect on my clients. So far, so good.
