Hey, you just spent a bunch of money on your countertops and ruined them with gross oil stains, but just enjoy it and drink and eat well? IT ain't calacatta, and that doesn't look like fashionable wear and tear I mean, he is in a rough situation, but I would try to poultice and remove and then drench in quality sealer before I continued to drink and be merry.

I do however NOT blame the fabricator. We are all put in a position to fabricate these new to market stones and forced to cut new things all the time. He will know now for future jobs in this, but at a certain point it is very unfair how distributers, builders etc all demand us to cut the next thing, and demand us to be 100% liable for a natural product. So yes I would be pissed, and yes I would try to resolve it, but I wouldn't lace into the fabricator more than within reason.

Don't sweat the small stuff and you will be a much happier person, a chip, a dent, a stain, an accident is small stuff and if he wants to fix it that's cool as he now knows how to do it. Ruined! its no more ruined than your head after you lost your hair, not as pretty but just as useful

Awesomely funny. Now if I paid for my hair I would be pissed to have only gotten 30 years out of it I agree and I have white marble in my bathroom and a few stains on my vanity (wife's is fine somehow??) and it is all good. Just that what he has is pretty bad and not wearing in a nice way.

Well guys, my attempts have not been helpful, even in the mildest way. I purchased and applied: Dupont Stonetech (smelled the best), Lustro Stain Remover Powder, TeClean, the one that seemed to get the greatest support in this forum, and finally a mixture of Comet cleanser with bleach. Took before and after pictures (see one attached for example). I don't see any improvement and understand that two things I did NOT do: 1) pull the stove out or 2) apply a stripper. I did not do #1 because I had plenty of places where the edge was fully exposed and #2 because I assumed that in the areas where staining occurred, by definition it was not sealed. I would have been OK, if I had to do this five more times but I don't see any difference at all. Other ideas from this knowledgeable group of friendly, helpful professionals?

Apply the sealer remover. The stain has leached in through the mitered joint and the edge of the stone. You are trying to remove it through the sealed surface. I would work on one area at a time.

There probably was sealer applied it just didn't get 100% coverage in the tough to get to areas.
