The overall length of standard pieces range to 9' on a regular basis. We, typically, do not handle pieces at an angle that you demonstrate. Your handle would need to support a larger portion of the 25" end, maybe like an 18" bracket to attach the handle to, using your method.

Re: NEW GRANITE Dolly OTLVISE
I made a sample cart that hopefully a few of you saw on youtube today but after a trial with it I found out my tires are too large for a 10 x 6 sheet through a door way coming up a flight of stairs. IM ordering new tires so there will be more clearance, no bottoming out on ends etc. There were also a couple other things I needed to modify. Needless to say I am NOT ready to handle ALL of your requirements right now on these big sheets, some yes for sure but NOT ALL. I thank you guys for giving me your problems and hoping when I return next time you will be happier with my products performance as I wont be back until I can produce a video per your requirements with a large sheet.
My website is maintained by myself, I am a one man show and have to do everything. My first large order of product is in production and my website doesn't show any yet. Once I have the new product Im sure I will be able to have a proper website produced. But like I say, Im still waiting for actual new product. The new product has more capabilities and to represent my product fairly Im going to wait for the NEW First run production to show demo models.
And Please any videos of a large sheets being moved would help allot. I have one fellow who Im starting to work with but the more I see the better I will understand. Maybe you guys can have a thread on how to move a full sheet the best way. I don't know if that already exists or NOT? Might be very helpful if not already there somewhere for new guys in your business to avoid unsafe methods. Or if there is a place that has a course on that I would like to know about it.
Thanks for your help Guys,

Re: NEW GRANITE Dolly OTLVISE
We dug 75ish ft through 24" of snow today around a house so we could cart the pieces to the side window and put pieces through it for a basement remodel. I was really wishing i had one of these carts instead of the omni.

Re: NEW GRANITE Dolly OTLVISE
I bought two Xtreme Haulers in Vegas 5 or 7 years ago ,one with bike wheels and one with lower wheels.Never really used the lower solid wheels but I use the bike wheel one all the time! Rated for 600 lbs but had 750 on it pleenty of times. We get 4-500 lb'rs going up stairs all the time too. Soapstone is 3cm and 20-22lbs per sq ft.

Re: NEW GRANITE Dolly OTLVISE
Hello and Happy New Year Gentlemen,
you must have watched my ski attachment vid, it works awesome and I run into snow all the time as pool tables are usually in the basement.....yes it does take 5 seconds to pop off a wheel and replace with a ski. or other size wheel if you need to.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FXYbZB3qGPI
Im working on my new product shipment and also designing a new SUPER CLAMP, mine just bigger LOL specifically for your trade. Im still open to showing my product to one of you guys so you can verify the quality and capabilities.
IM happy to design it myself but if you guys can list any features NOT presently available please let me know.
Cheers John

That is so weird.....I forgot I was in that video. The guy who built that dolly died of cancer shortly after that video was shot.

Re: NEW GRANITE Dolly OTLVISE
My experience with your product is still limited but have been thinking that surely there are many instances where you may be delivering the kitchen stone well before the outside of the house\condo whatever is completed. This will present uneven sidewalks, driveways etc in addition to the normal issues.
To address this Im putting on shocks and using 4 wheels. This way when you have a large sheet and the ground isn't even my unit will undulate with the ground and reduce the top heavy load of a large sheet from tipping more than it would have otherwise.
Ground that is considered flat really isn't when using 4 wheels. Ive noticed that my sheet configuration during testing has wheels leaving the ground etc even though it may be minimal like a half inch(3 on 1 off). The forces though created by this aren't seen and the clamp head would then be torqued adversely even though you don't know it at times as the product dips. Otlvise (replaceable) clamp head is presently 3.5 inches in diameter and half inch steel which can easily have various styles of rubber lids to protect product. So scarring problems and clamp head design are easily addressed fyi.
My question now is this? when there are added side borders to the stone top or bottom is it possible to use a spacer block adjacent to that border to make that area wider to provide a uniform surface for the clamp head to place pressure on? or do you think it would crack? If so, how far should I allow for the additional clearance of those molding\drip edge pieces. The ones Ive seen are about 2 inches.
Tried uploading pics but system indicates format not accepted? Im using jpeg
What would happen if you drilled a 3/8 hole a half inch into the backside of a piece of your product? Is that easy to do with a battery operated drill? I know slate drills easily already but you fellows deal with various stone types.
Since there have been many that have said they install these large sheets regularly Im still looking forward to a vid start to finish. Im trying to help and need yours to expedite my new product development if you can.
thanks again John

If it's rejecting your pictures, they are likely too big. Use Imgur.com or something to upload and resize the photos, then you can post them here.

New axle attachment wow! these units are modular and can have more wheels added(4 wheel unit) with various size axles, attachments go on axle, axle goes on attachments. The holes are for mounting whatever you like as protected material such as wood or you could use rubber. You could have different set-ups. Also great for sheetrock, plywoods etc

John- that prototype looks better than the last one you posted as far as it looking professional. I am, however, confused on how granite would be loaded onto it. Please explain or post some pics of it in use.

with 4 wheels.. Idea being go as wide as possible for stability but when needed be flexible. This is the light weight version of my 4 ft Slate Shoe on top of the trollies. Its quarter inch steel. The 4 foot shoe can be any size and would think it may help in the shop as well besides protecting cutouts during transport. So yes Im still working on it but thought I would give you a glimpse. It takes me time and I have allot of other things on my plate. Once the weather clears I will be able to buy a large sheet and play with it. But I think your L counters are more of a challenge? yes?

Re: NEW GRANITE Dolly OTLVISE
I think very large islands are the most challenging. L's aren't too bad. We still use a cart and they have to stay flat. Also, something to consider, our current cart grips the material so when we lift the granite to walk up a few stairs, the cart stays attached. I can't imagine a cart that didn't attach.

Re: NEW GRANITE Dolly OTLVISE
Whats is the load rating?
A few observations:
The axel looks too thin for long term use and abuse.
Small bolts instead of welded.
Tires will pick up gravel and dirt.
Don't see anything to hold the slab while transporting it.

Re: NEW GRANITE Dolly OTLVISE
I can appreciate your work and all. It seems to me that you are trying to invent something that already exists and is quite useful.
Perhaps, if you understood what is currently available, you could save valuable time and effort getting to that point. Thus allowing you to work on improvements, rather than reinventing the wheel.
Search what is out there. I understand that it may influence your thoughts and all, but it would give you a clearer picture of what is needed and possibly save you a lot time and aggravation, imo.

thanks for sharing this cart. Neat features......... curious how you lowered it down the ramps? ropes, winch?
do you think larger air tires would have worked with it?
Here is a pic of a modular wheel assembly. Do you think it would be good to use for the guys instead of burdening them the entire way with the weight of the stone? guide it instead with the wheel in the middle? its another attachment with the clamp coming off for other uses when needed so perhaps it might come in handy?
Size perspective= the clamp head is 3.5 inches in diameter
