Re: Poseidon Machinery
I have dealt with them on a couple of things. A water treatment system and a tilt table for layouts. The water filtration system was basically the same bag system that everyone was making and they wanted more for theirs. The tilt table is built like a beast but isn't flat, has a very high pivot point, and the welds for the hydraulic cylinders were about 1/2 inch too high.
I wouldn't recommend them but so far the table is working for us, we just had to do a little work.

Re: Poseidon Machinery
HI Brian,
This is Joe from Poseidon. We do ask more for our water filtration system, because unlike companies that sell it alone. We sell it with a holding tank, the proper pumps, stand, and the vertical system(our proprietary design) where it occupies less space in a shop. Our complete systems range from $10,000 to $12,000 depending on the GPMs. We are competitive on the dehydrator system when its sold alone compared to ABACO or anyone else's.
As far as your table, no table is 100% flat as in order to accomplish that, you would need to run the top and the bottom part of the top table frame thru a large milling machine. The rotation pivot is high, however, the table you purchase has the advantage that when it lifts, only 30% of the total table's weight is being lifted as opposed to some designs where 80% of the table weight tilts up and has a lot of strain on the hinge mechanisms.
No one makes a better table for the price than we do(All made in the USA for @$10k). I'm am very happy to hear that it is working well for you!
Best Regards,
Joe

Re: Poseidon Machinery
Hi Nick,
Poseidon does not import or have any association with Shengda machinery in China. That would be a gentleman named Pini from California who does a great job distributing them in the USA.
Poseidon machinery imports components and machine parts from all over the world, namely Asia and Europe. We also build some models completely with American parts. For example, on our PT 4000, 7000, and 8000 models, we import the mechanical cast-iron bridge and rails. The truth is cast-iron is obsolete in the USA and would be very costly from Europe.
We mount motors from a USA company and we make our own electrical panels in Florida with all UL, CE, or CSA certified components. We mount mostly VEM or Saccardo blade motors. These are the brands that are mounted by 97% of all stone equipment makers from Italy and Park Industries.
Our ODEON model is made 100% in our Florida factory.
You can see more info on our facility at : www.facebook.com/poseidonmachines

Re: Poseidon Machinery
Sorry about that. I was confused with a video I saw on youtube of your 5 axis viking saw and another chinese manufacturer (maybe wasn't Shengda) posted the original same video with native language instead of music and I assumed Poseidon was a similar situation to PB marble services in representation. I just tried to find their video and yours, but it appears theirs is not on youtube anymore and has been taken down.....I hadn't seen it since I was really looking into 5 Axis CNC saws and looking at all kinds of stuff on the internet before we finally got one which was back in April or something, so I apologize for the confusion.
Shengda does make a good saw though from what I hear, I spoke with someone at an auction who had 2 that he got directly and he was happy.

I agree with Nick. My apologies for any inconsiderate remarks. Poseidon Machinery should become more vocal on here, we could use some of your knowledge.

Re: Poseidon Machinery
Hello Guys!
No problem. I appreciate your reply. I will be checking in more often on here. Yes, the Shengda machines are very well built. As a matter of fact, I helped them in 2002 to begin developing their 625 model. I have been to their factory twice. Out of all chinese factories, I believe they are among the best quality. Mechanics are great on most chinese machines. They have things that we simply do not have in the USA anymore like affordable cast-iron factories and affordable machining. However, the panel standards and electrical is still very far behind American standards. I'm not trying to knock them, but they are shipping machines all over the world. And worldwide, the standards are not as high outside of Europe and the USA.
We are working on an affordable 4 and 5 axis CNC Bridge saw with all high quality components and POSEIDON, which means all service and support from our Florida office.
Please feel free to ask any questions you guys have where I may be of some help. I have worked on 95% of all brands in the industry at one time or another from bridge saws to edgers to CNC machines to waterjets.
Hope your year is starting off well!

Re: Poseidon Machinery
Poseidon machinery looks well built. Not quite as affordable as I need, you say you have been around many machines, any experience with Donatoni?

Donatoni makes a fantastic saw, and their software is great from what I could tell. Not many here yet, but there will(should) be. If you are looking for a saw, they should be on your short list.

Re: Poseidon Machinery
Hi Guys!
Donatoni is a fantastic saw. They were actually some of the first pioneers to make CNC bridge saws. They are similar to Poseidon in that their sister company, ZED, renovates and refurbs all brands of stone equipment. So, there techs take the best aspects from everyone's equipment, and incorporate those principles in their machine building. I am good friends with Mr. Mauro Zanoni, one of the executives of Donatoni. Great people. Verona is an awesome city and the show there is one of my favorites worldwide.
Thank you AJ. We try to make our machines very heavy duty.
Best Regards!

Re: Poseidon Machinery
Hi Jim,
You don't have to worry about "Trashing Us" on here. There is nothing to trash. You can tell the truth on this forum. That's what it's here for. You purchased a machine from us through a broker. I think its fair you tell the truth about the situation. Emailing people in private and claiming that you are suing our company(which is not true) does not seem very professional to me.
I think if you truly have an issue with our company, you should not have issues speaking about it openly.
Anyone can contact me or anyone from our company. We have many happy customers all over the USA and beyond that can attest to the quality of our equipment and service.
Best Regards,
Joe Alva

Re: Poseidon Machinery
Hello Michael(custom stone),
You purchased a machine that we made for you brand new as a special offer. It was a machine that has a miter feature with steel legs, 10HP motor, pendant remote control, and a hydraulic tilting table brand new. We sold it to you in the beginning of 2012 for the price of $22,500. You had a problem with a motor once, called us and we paid a local supplier near you so you could have a replacement. Then, you contacted us at the end of 2013, expressing that you would like to purchase a new Poseidon saw, which is a whole other level of equipment that we are now building. We offered you 100% full trade-in value for your old saw. Never heard a response until almost a half a year later with a nasty email about your pendant remote having the cable kink. We sent you a robotics cable to have it replaced. You demanded a wireless system, we sent that as well free of charge.
We have never stopped responding to your requests even though the machine is now out of warranty. We are still willing to purchase your saw back from you.
Best Regards,
Joe

Re: Poseidon Machinery
I feel the need to jump into this thread because I believe what "Surfacesinc" and "custostone1" are doing goes against what this forum is about. First, they make an account solely to make disparaging remarks against a stone machinery company they have an issue with and have yet to join the conversation on any other topic. Secondly, they have remained anonymous which is downright cowardly. Moderators consistently ask posters to identify themselves and I think especially in cases like this it is a must to know who is making these claims or the post needs to be removed. I have no problem with people publicly posting legitimate issues they have with a vendor but to do it in this way is classless.
In saying that, I own a 2014 Poseidon Odeon and have been very pleased with my purchase. When doing my research on a new saw this piece of equipment gave me what I felt was the best value on the market for my budget and after running it for a few months I feel the same way. It is built in a very similar way to other traditional premium bridge saws (Yukon, Eura35, HTO-1B), has all the options those have (wireless remote, auto-cut, Saccardo drive motor), but in an overall more affordable package. The techs on my install (JC and Adam) were great and handled a less than ideal install situation with professionalism. The service since has been solid as I have been able to reach my install tech on a couple occasions even on a Sunday evening to answer a question or two about the machine. In fact he has followed up with me on more than one occasion to just check on the machine to make sure all was good. Also, something that I don't think you get with your larger machinery companies is that the owner, Joe Alva, is accessible if need be.
Was everything from Poseidon perfect? No.....my installation was delayed and the any degree brake on my table had to be replaced because shipping delays kept the correct brake from going on my table from their factory. But, they made things right in a prompt way and also upgraded my table to compensate me for my installation delay.
Anyway, hopefully whoever reads the disparaging remarks about Poseidon from people who cowardly sit behind the anonymity of a computer will also read my experience and it will prompt them to do further research before making any decision.
