I just purchased a Northwood Fabcenter and was wanting to get a template machine. Proliner vs LT 55 2D 3D? Which one is easier to use for normal kitchens, showers, tub surrounds and baths. What about tech support, customer service, battery life etc..?

Re: Digital Templates
Everyone has their own preference. All of them work. Add Leica to the mix and all three are SFA sponsors. They all will do what you require. Each has pluses and minuses.

Re: Digital Templates
Dwayne,
There are many discussions on this in the members area without starting another.
All 3 are great machines and capable of doing basic templates of what is done most days.
There are limitations of all 3, depending on your needs, your experience, and your budget.
Try a search.
Nice choice on the machine btw!

Re: Digital Templates
We got our fabcenter in January of this year, looked at all the templating devises available and went with the LT55. I picked it because I thought it gave you the most "bang for your buck." Been very pleased with it. My 7 year old daughter templated counters at my house and picked it up in minutes. its that easy!
Like others have stated, each devise has certain limitations, but with some critical thinking and creativity, you can measure even the most complicated jobs. We recently had a commercial counter that had an I beam that ran up through the middle of the counter. I was able to measure so that our cuts were dead on to fill in the beam on each side with out additional seams.
Before I purchased it, I took the rep who was in town to demo it for me to a job site that had a huge kitchen with radius island and bar top. we shot the kitchen together and he sent me the patterns to prove that it would work to my liking. I would test drive before you buy any of them. Make sure how it works makes sense to you and that if you wanted to have an employee template for you, that it was easy enough for that employee to pick it up.
Also, you will still learn to double check. not for machine error, but for operator error.

Re: Digital Templates
I have never used anything but the Lt 55. I do however see a lot of value in the 3d lt 55 and the lieca for tub decks and shower walls. We have used our lt for 5 years now with no issues and very good service.

Re: Digital Templates
Having used both extensively, I can tell you in my opinion the accuracy of the end result is very much the same, excellent. The proliner is faster and probably easier to set up and complete a template. However the proliner will set you back many $1,000s more.
