Hi folks,
Here's the video we made as a token of gratitude for all the SFA has done for our company (Brothers In Granite) and for the good of the entire stone industry. It's a brief of our time together here in Brazil. Please click to watch it:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R5J-qTT1nnw
For sure the SFA has made history in Brazil! Every factory which they visited (including us) were amazed with their respect, politeness and I can even say warmness they have shown to every person they encountered while in Brazil. I think the group of 16 who made to Brazil represented perfectly the whole concept of the SFA which changed things on the mind from the business owners down here.
I believe the stone industry itself is changing worldwide and the fabricators (specially from the SFA) have now shown that to Brazil. During a dinner we all had at one of the factories, the owner said on his speech that this group has opened his eye to see fabricators in a much different perspective then before. This a significant change on the Brazilian mentality and we thank the SFA for doing that!
During our time together here in Brazil we had two events which I want to share with you, which made the difference for me:
1- One of the members, who is new on the SFA, had a long conversation with the others about pretty much everything from his business which needed to changed in order to achieve a brighter future. On that opportunity I saw that the meaning of "learn, share and prosper" was a true reality for the SFA. They started the conversation probably around 9pm and on the next day Darryl Miller told me it went until at least 2am. This happened at the end of the trip and they were all clearly tired from all the days in Brazil, but they still took their time and effort to help one member out!
2- On Chris Garten speech at one of the dinners we had together he said to everyone in the place (members, suppliers, etc), of how this trip has changed his business and that everyone should share with all other members about his experience. He encouraged others to don't keep the gold with them, but instead SHARE!
I'm very sure this is just a start of what is to come and we strongly encourage all the fabricators from the SFA to take that same step on the near future. Open your mind for the new, learn with the more experienced and then share!
I want to say my personal thanks for some SFA members who since the beginning supported and believed on us: Dan Riccolo, Linus Modlich, Eric Rolseth, Rick George, Guy Robertson, Mark Lauzon and a few others that I can’t remember now. Thank you big Dan for making all this possible! You are the man!
SFA ROCKS!!!

Though we were not a part of this trip we look forward to joining a trip in the near future. In the meantime we have created an account with Brothers in Granite and hope to start importing very soon!

Re: SFA has made history in Brazil!
One thing Fernando left out about Chris Graham's surfing experience. He showed up at the beach already showered and dressed to go to the airport later that day. He decided to try his hand at surfing anyway. When Fernando tried to give him advice on how to do it, Chris said " It's okay. I got this!" He took his shirt, shoes and socks off and hit the water.
We all had a great time on this trip and as on any SFA venture, there were lots of laughs and good memories made.

Hi Colby, you are always welcome both in Brazil and at Brothers, as any other SFA member! We should talk to Dan to possibly plan the 2016 trip to Brazil!BellaTerra wrote:Though we were not a part of this trip we look forward to joining a trip in the near future.
