Anyone know this stone

I'm looking to find out what this stone is? It polishes as a marble. It was installed 80 years ago.
Looking back, fifty years from now, don't you want to say you had the guts to get in the car!!

Most Catholic Churches use Jasper Red but this looks more like Verona Red marble.
