I just had a customer contact me, who we put Solaris Granite in their kitchen, ask me if we had ever heard of Delta auto touch faucet give our customers any issues. After dealing with the Delta reps and other kitchen and bath dealers with no good answer, he asked me why his faucet would turn when they touched their countertop from 3 feet away. He was actually talking about wanting to ground his countertop to a electrical box to see if that would stop the issue.
He isn't wanting us to try to do anything about it but he is reaching out to us for helpful advice, any info that anyone has on this type of thing would be gratefully appreciated.
I've never heard of that. I would suggest a rubber gasket top and bottom to insulate it. But I also thought that technology was like a I phone and it responded to heat of the touch. Grounding something to keep it from happening would suggest to me that it turns on and off via a static charge. Who knows. Good luck.

They use capacitance in the human body (touch sensitive). The iron oxide in the Solaris granite must be conductive enough to transfer the static electricity to the faucet. That is awesome!
I don't think grounding the countertop will work as it is already contacting the faucet which is connected to the water pipes which already go to ground... but I could be wrong. Insulating like Chris said would probably work best.
In addition to a rubber or plastic washer on top and bottom, you will need to put shrink tube or electrical tape around the part of the faucet that goes through the hole... or center it really well so it doesn't touch the sidewalls of the cored hole.

The rubber gaskets is a great idea as well as the shrink tube. I give him a call and let him know what was advised, I am sure that would be easier than grounding an entire slab.
