Raised Top on 3/4" Panel
Has anyone installed a 3cm Raised/Bar top that was supported by nothing more than a 3/4" panel, along with a couple corbels and a cleat on the wall?

Re: Raised Top on 3/4" Panel
We have several times but that 3/4" panel needs to be really secure and solid. If you lean on the end of the corbels there shouldn't be any play in them otherwise they will have issues down the road. Any seams in the raised counter?

Re: Raised Top on 3/4" Panel
No seams, and it's a relatively small top. 61" x 16" out of 3cm Elegant Gray granite. I normally wouldn't even consider it, but wanted to get some feedback from others! Panel also has an access door from the outside, which weakens it in my opinion! I haven't seen this in person, and out templator has not returned yet so I haven't gotten full details of how cabinets etc. look. I suggested cutting it down and convert to a peninsula but it sounds like the homeowner just purchased some nice bar stools and is worried to break the news to his wife!
