Bridge Saw RPMs

My cousin just opened up a shop near by and he bought a new Yukon. The blade speed seems much slower than other saws. Is it in fact a lower rpm? Is it adjustable? Just wondering

I would check the power coming in if the wild leg is wrong it could cause it to run slower

The Yukon runs at 1150 rpm. If he runs a 16" granite blade and a 18" marble blade, it'll cut sweet.

my saws are all fixed speed. Not adjustable.

Every saw I have ever seen has a fixed RPM that is only a function of the # of hertz is was designed for. They normally don't have an inverter on them which would allow you to control the speed like the travel motors do. Since it is a yukon, I highly doubt it has european 50hz motor. That being said, the larger the blade it has the slower the speed it will be designed for. If you are swinging a huge blade you need a lower rpm so the tip speed is correct. Like the others said, bigger blade and you will be good to go.

Rim speed is a more appropriate measure for blade effectiveness. The rim speed is figured by the rpm and the circumference of the blade. I think it is in a linear measurement like inches/minute or similar.
