didnt appear to be a lot of slurry mess with the surface polish of the chip. about how much water/easy oxy do you use? just enough to keep the turbo lubricated?Stone Dude wrote:haha, I forgot about that guy.BellaTerra wrote:Cameron did you ever collect on the guys "kingdom" who challenged you on how flat you can get a top? Just enough water to keep the pad cool and smooth. Original Ceramica 1000 grit resin.

As Cameron said use the original Alpha Ceramica 1000 it's a resin pad. Engineered stone top polishing is a whole other animal. You would need one of the complete sets of product like Stone Renew. We have done it on occasion to repair damage or a scratch but never as a seam top polish. I don't know of anyone who top polishes ES seams. Voids the warranty, takes five times as long and is just asking for trouble. Just my $.02.

I did wonder about ES, as you see so many stone ones done. It would be great if you could just sand the joins like corian.

WOW - your results are amazing in that last picture! great job!Stone Dude wrote:This one of the worst seams I have ever done. The pictures honestly don't show how bad it was, over 1/16 high, probably about 3/32.
I took the entire thing down with a 300 NSI Turbo. Yes, I could have used 150, but I like using the 300. It takes longer, but you have a lot more time to adjust and feel it out on the fly to make sure it's perfectly flat.
Not a ripple

You are correct; ES is "a whole other animal". Sometimes trouble manifests through an 11-year-old and his 12-year-old brother: http://www.countertopiq.com/2016/07/29/zodiaq-zappers/

Re: In Need Of Surface Polishing Tips Please
There are many products out there that will bring out the factor finish in ES.
We offer the Alpha Turbo shine Kit in which i think lasts ten times longer than some liquid you pour onto the top itself. Also comes with a set of granite pads and ES pads as well.
Its' all in preference and I think I would rather have pads that do the trick rather than some powder that you mix and hope you get the right consitency.
Don't get me wrong you need the chemicals to bring the shines out. I was just referencing that powder number 3,2,1 are the only things that work.

Re: In Need Of Surface Polishing Tips Please
I've brought them to the last two workshops. I'll bring them to the next workshop and play with them.
The set does include two alpha buffs so we are gtg.
They have included a new 2000 grit to match the texture of the ES and they say its good for fine particulates and textured es. Didn't get to use them to the fullest yet
