What to do with small remnants

I agree. You should be fully convinced before any purchase.
I am not convinced with the crusher.
I was just speaking up about a friend's credibility.
I thought, him being in our shoes, was worth noting. Rather than just another salesperson.

I have a massive pile of remnants too small to use on vanities or really anywhere in a house. What does everyone do with these left overs other than throw them in the trash? Is there a way to make money on them?

I had a countertop installed in my house a couple of months ago, and there was a leftover piece that is 20"X29" from a cutout for my cooktop...I built a small cedar table to put on my patio, and used the piece of granite as the top for the table...the table is about 2" high, and it makes a good side table when sitting on the patio in the summertime

The most economical way to dispose of this crap is to put it directly in the hopper!! Plus the vanity customers don't waste so much of your time cause there is nothing to look at.

This is a smaller scaled down crusher no doubt, but I don't think his market is for the 2-5 kitchen a week fabricator here.

It all begins with the big markets getting something they demand and then the smaller markets getting the insight and engineering into a similar product that works for their market.

I however will add my 2 cents and think a crusher could never be the best way to dispose of the rems and cut offs. You would have to over engineer the thing to the point is would not be cost effective. Too many different materials to account for. ES is a killer on crushers as well. We almost killed my buddies huge scale crusher with it, and he no longer will take our cutoffs because of it.

I like the stamper idea, it is just plain old too slow!!! Plus your return on your product would be much greater as you could sell the finished product as a per piece basis, not per pound like crush....

Stamped granite not only looks terrible, it really has little worth considering you can get many options of marble pavers for pretty cheap and they actually look awesome, so by the time you priced hodgpodge stamped scraps to make price the deciding factor over other options it isn't worth the time and packaging to make it happen. Even the ad for the one stamper in the magazines with the finished bathroom or whatever is totally hideous, and you know the best looking job was chosen to help sell the machine.

I have the opposite mindset of Andy on Vanity customers. We do alot of vanities. I do however agree that hopper then garbage is the only sensible option. It is wasteful, it is a shame, but it is part of the equation for countertops. Every industry has waste, countertops are no different.

It takes me twice as much time to coddle a rem customer than a full slab customer. We make some money on rems but i keep the pile pretty small so they cant waste too much of my time.
