Luna Pearl Problem

I am trying to help a customer out with a "issue" with Luna Peal. He installed it and everything seemed fine.
Now the homeowner is complaining of stains. I confirmed with him that he sealed it with Tiger Ager from Tenex. Not sure why you would seal it with that?
Form the sounds of it, it is oil that is "staining" it. He says it is around the stove and probably caused from frying oil.
He tried a poultice powder and it didn't work.
I suggested he try heat....aka a torch or heat gun.
I guess I am looking for suggestions on what to remove the stain with, and wondering if there is a better sealer to use than TIger Ager?
Any thoughts?

Re: Luna Pearl Problem
Just my .02. Tiger Ager is not a sealer. So he did not seal it as far as I can tell. Silicone Base Impregnators seem to work best in my opinion.
As for the Poltice, what did he use exactly? How long did he leave it on? etc... If it is an oil stain I would have mixed it with Acetone left on for 24+ hours covered and taped down be fore removing. I know they do make potice now that you can buy as well.

Re: Luna Pearl Problem
He used Tenex TeClean, taped it on for 24 hours, then came and removed it. It didnt take the stain out, but lightened it.
Maybe another round of TeClean?

Re: Luna Pearl Problem
I use Mangia Machia for stain removals as this. You can purchase from most tooling suppliers. With whatever method you use it may take numerous applications. If the stain got lighter after the first use, the poultice he tried was working and he may just have to do more applications. The stain will come out and then reseal with a good quality sealer as Tenax Hydrex or ProSeal.

Re: Luna Pearl Problem
Are you sure it was Luna Pearl? Or was it the Chinese version? We had several problems with Bella White. It is the most absorbent stone we've ever run across.

Re: Luna Pearl Problem
Hey I had the exact same problem with Luna Pearl this lady called my from 100 miles away crying because her granite was "stained by the stove".
So I jumped up and drove out to see her.
The problem? Light from her kitchen window was reflecting off something creating the effect of an oily looking stain coming out from the edge of the stove. We took the stove out and the stain disappeared. We put the stove back in and shone a flashlight on the area and the stain disappeared. We got lamps out and turned all the lights on and there was no stain. Just a shadow.
So before you go kill the stone with all sorts of chemicals ... look for shadows.

Re: Luna Pearl Problem
If the stained area lightened with the poultice then it was certainly working. Just need to keep applying until it is gone but be warned that you may make that area too light because most likely the entire kitchen is now slightly stained. A big ol can of worms will be opened then.
