Marble Blades
Can anyone recommend a good blade for cutting soft stones. I'm currently using an Alpha Libero which is a very good blade but seems a bit pricey. I need to get a couple more to mount to other tools and just wondered if anyone could recommend a good but less pricey option. The 7" Libero is about $100.

Re: Marble Blades
You can try our red blade as it is very good at clean cutting and priced right we use the 5" version to cut the ends of backsplash off for a cleaner cut. The 10" is priced at $45

Re: Marble Blades
Ravin, what diameters do you need for your other tools? Did you want to stay electroplated like the alpha blade? Electroplated are usually more expensive than other types of diamond blades.

Re: Marble Blades
Electroplated blades are for soft/non-abrasive stones and Will cut granite but life will be extremely compromised while sintered granite blades will normally chip marble or soft stones because of the make-up of the stone itself.
Although the Alpha Libero is a bit pricey it is an excellent electroplated blade there are other choices that most of the SFA sponsors offer. Cyclone is a great alternative and come in 2 grades. Standard and the Super Cyclone which has quad adapter holes and can be uses for side grinding because it has a thick core and plating on core. Diamant Boart offers a few economy styles also. There are different qualities of electroplating thus different results may occur.

Re: Marble Blades
Thanks for the replies. Mark - I'm looking for one 7" and one 10" electroplated. From what I recall I could never locate a electroplated blade > 7" but maybe I did not look hard enough. Failing that 2 7" blades would work.
They are for mounting onto a wormdrive saw, small box tilesaw and large tilesaw.
