I joined a consumer buying group called Lyoness. It’s free to sign up; there is no monthly fees or yearly fees, no auto ship, no cost to you. Just cash back with every purchase from Lyoness merchants. You can’t lose and you can build a residual income thru purchases.
I signed my business up as a Lyoness merchant and now I will receive 1% of every purchase thru my store, from everyone that signs up for the loyalty cash back card and it’s free. I will offer them 2% cash back and 2% in member benefits. Every member wants to do business with Lyoness merchants. This will bring customers to my door. I view the cost as part of my marketing budget.
I think I’ve seen every multi level marketing program there is and didn’t like any of them. This is different and it works because its products and services we already buy. Why not get cash back weekly and build a business too.

Sorry Randy. But these things are always just a flash in the pan.
I would be concerned what potential customers may think of you offering up a "pyramid" while selling them stone. Someone always gets the screws in these deals.

Re: Free cash back card to offer your customers
Thanks you guys for all the advice
It is similar to a pyramid the difference is all the money comes from merchants thru sales,
There is a lot of big hitters in this. Home depot, Lowes, Chevron, Exon, Disney, Sears, Kmart, Wallmart, American airlines, Best Western, Bass Pro Shops, Outback Steakhouse, etc I can't see how anyone can lose by joining and getting cash back with every purchase. The only way you can lose is by not joining.
I'll keep you posted on how it works and how much business it drives to us.

Re: Free cash back card to offer your customers
You lose by feeling compelled to only purchase things from members for 2% cash back or whatever, when a non member could offer those goods for 10% less but you wouldn't even know it because you are not shopping them because you only want to shop with people you get 2% back from
By not joining I actually win because I have true capitalism at my disposal to purchase both the best priced and best quality goods from whom I unbiasedly see fit with no predisposed interest toward any particular retailer, thus insuring that I am buying strictly based on the merit and value of the good, and the value of that far surpasses the 2% cash back in both quality of product and actual currency

Re: Free cash back card to offer your customers
Lyoness is new to the US market with less than 50,000 members. They are projecting 35 million members. Warren Buffett's company Fruit of the Loom is a merchant along with hundreds of others.
“This is our tenth year of doing business internationally, but we are relatively new to North America,” says CEO Mario D. Hoffmann. “However, we have seen enthusiasm growing for the Lyoness Cashback program, especially when people find out that they can continue to shop where they are now shopping, buy gift cards from many of those same merchants through Lyoness, and at the same time save money.”
Lyoness is a global shopping network and rewards loyalty program with cash back rewards for loyal members. It is active in 41 countries worldwide. Currently, more than 2.6 million members use the Lyoness benefits at 29,000 loyalty merchants worldwide.
For more information about the Lyoness or the Lyoness Child & Family Foundation, visit: http://www.Lyoness‐CFF.org and http://www.Lyoness.com.

Randy do you really want to go down that road ? , really ?
this is just for starter's
Readers please note that, as a result of well-informed complaints to Carrefour in France and Lego in Denmark, both these reputable European companies now no longer do business with the 'Lyoness' racketeers ( Jan 7th, 2013).

Interesting reading Curtis, of course the fact you needed to even bother producing such information is mind blowing as this is obviously a terrible financial decision without any need to dig for what you would expect to find out about it.
I found this to be quote worthy and relative to the thread:
I must admit that Freidl has been playing it smart, though. Most previous pyramid schemes have aimed at individuals, whereas this one is mostly aimed at small business owners. They lack customers, especially in these times, and are promised that they will significantly increase their sales, just by paying the 2000 euros and giving minor discounts. Next to that, they can easily become a millionaire by enrolling their competitors and colleagues.
Furthermore, Lyoness targets naive people by advertising its alleged friendships with large multinational corporations. Most of those companies have never even heard of Lyoness, let alone that they care who gives away discount vouchers of a few procent for their products. Irrelevant documents and certificates (like the ISO 9001) are used to 'prove' that Lyoness is legitimate and if all else fails: 'nobody has forbidden us yet'.
Randy, I don't care to post it all as you own a computer, but dude, Curtis' comment of "not wanting to go down this road" certainly seems justified from the HUGE amount of negative information. I hope you didn't sign up and spend the money as a retailer yet....

Re: Free cash back card to offer your customers
I’m going for it. Because the way I see it I’ve got nothing to lose and everything to gain. If I’m wrong I’m out 3k. If I’m right I will get cash back with every purchase and build a residual income for life. I’ve read the complaints and they don’t make since. All the money comes from merchants and it cost nothing to join. I can’t see where the scam is. The life of a Ponzi scheme is 2 years. They have a 10 year track record, 10 billion dollars strong, 800 employees, and are in 41 countries. I don’t believe everything I read on the internet. Have you ever had to correct a customer on granite because she read it on the internet? I do all the time. If what you read on the internet about granite was true no one would buy granite.
Where would you be today if you bought 3k in Apple stock in 1980? With no risk there is no reward. If I lose 3k it won’t affect my livelihood.
Plus, what smart business man does not want to drive new loyal clients to their establishment!! The vast majority of business’s now have a "benefit" card of some kind Lyoness gets rid of the confusion and simplifies the benefits with cash back with every
purchase. Simple effective concept driven by consumers and supported by merchants!! LOVE IT!!

Re: Free cash back card to offer your customers
Yes it’s free to become a member. You will get 1 – 2 % cash back and 1 – 2 % will go into an account that will buy accounting units that pay commission. All the money comes from the merchant. They also give a friendship referral bonus. The catch is to buy from a Lyoness merchant and receive the member benefits from shopping.
I became a premium member to pre buy accounting units, sign my business as a Lyoness merchant and for the extra benefits for premium members.
How many granite jobs do I need to do with loyal Lyoness members to justify my premium membership? You will become a premium member thru shopping it just takes longer.
Check the website and go to the FAQ’s that should help.

At a $4200 kitchen average, roughly 56 kitchens to lioness members looking for a kitchen and choosing you in your area to break even.Randy Gallion wrote: How many granite jobs do I need to do with loyal Lyoness members to justify my premium membership?
The loyal lioness customer would choose you over another company because of a $63 incentive in cash back on that same job. Considering that I know your work is good, and I doubt you are very cheap, I would bet that a "price shopper" could beat your estimates by $63 all day. Now at a consumer level, who would join lioness? I would guess many people who fall into the "price shopper" category. Sure gas and groceries are something to be "loyal" with, but I think the service you provide at the prices granite costs would very much so test the "loyalty" of these lioness members. Of course it is hard to take into account the brainwashing which would be in your favor, well, it is clearly not in your favor most of the time but it would be if someone else was as jacked up on this and buying from you

So, how many people in your area are even lioness members, I mean real ones? 300ish? If that.
How many of those will be renovating their kitchen or bath in next 2 years? I think that 20% is an aggressively positive stab.
That is 60 lioness members. If you lose 5 of those sale you will not break even. I would think it would be a feat to sell 30 jobs to members in the next 2 years, I don't even see that happening.

Re: Free cash back card to offer your customers
I'm not a fan of these types of schemes, but I do believe your numbers are off Nick.
At a $4,200 average kitchen if you make 5% (which is very low) that is $210 profit per kitchen. At $3000 cost to join divided by $210 profit per job equals just over 14 kitchens to break even. At a 10% profit, it would take just over 7 kitchens sold to members to break even.

I was going off of 1.5% because he said 1-2% throughout this entire thread. Where did you get 5?
I believe he would get 1-2 and the buyer gets 1-2, and both are in the form of some kind of credits and not a direct deposit of money, if I also understand this correctly.

Re: Free cash back card to offer your customers
Also, another reason why this is awesome for the dude and no one else. That money in these "accounts" across all members In a huge fund generates way more interest than what the give back when members redeem it... And from what I found online, nothing prevents the company from shutting down and not redeeming anyone's credits. Again, brilliant. Like randy said, what is the big loss, $3 grand? So if he loses $3500 plus another $1000 in credits, whatever....multiply that by their claimed membership in a compounding interest account and you have a bunch of minority irritated members, and someone making out with a fortune their great grandchildren couldn't spend.
And FYI randy, there are not 800 w2ed employees....probably less than 12. The way they describe partners and employees would be like if a builder said he had 1000 employees because he would include all employees of all trades he gets bids from. Follow?

Re: Free cash back card to offer your customers
Oh, and also what I found out. It is not illegal because of loopholes and the definition of what the company really does, but France is investigating it hard and if you read what Curtis posted you would have caught how they are in the process moving the company headquarters to another country with very, very relaxed business law as this post is being typed. Since lioness doesn't "make" money, the 2% has to come from someplace when redeemed. On their "partners" ends it comes form mass bought "coupons" for lack of a better word(like the $5 off of $50 you get in the paper every Sunday). This is how they claim partnership, when in reality anyone of us with the money can purchase down a percentage off of say outback steakhouse by buying through them $X of business and receiving a discount for that volume. Chances are as in the $5 off of $50 we see regularly, lioness also makes a couple of percent on these deals as well after they offer the 2% back to the client. This is why you use their card, you don't pay lioness $50 for dinner, lioness pays outback $6000 for discounted volume dinners that their clients may have spent $7000 on including their 2% credit. OK, I understand that and it is a group buy in a sense.
Expanding upon that I found a great read where someone in europe explains how these discounts are not enough to cover operating costs and all "technically owed cash back". He then makes a case that the entire thing would mathematically fold if everyone redeemed at the same time (think the movie it's a wonderful life or whatever Christmas bank depression movie that was) AND there were no new members like randy pumping in $3500. So basically, the model is sustained by new members paying into it and that is why they recruit so hard with seminars and rallies etc. and typical pyramid propaganda.
This person goes on further to explain how I guess there are three phases to the lioness plan, but the third phase where everyone gets rich when there are so many members or whatever can't fiscally ever happen and is the carrot. They claim it will once a market is mature enough with membership, but they have been in countries for 10years and not reached this "phase".
So basically randy will never see this phase, and probably never break even and the dude who started this if he can avoid prosecution in Europe is brilliant and it is stuff like this that kills me because I should be doing something like this with my life instead of selling granite. I know I am smart enough to come up with something like this and what makes this guy so brilliant is that it is not illegal until the country he is in and countries he operates in make it illegal and by the time that happens he will probably just have to stop, but he will go under before that happens and walk with a freaking mint. It is genious and most all articles on it give deserved credit to this guy for masterminding it.

Everything is relative
