Here is a story from a local news station about one of our guys, as you can see he has a true passion for stone.

Nice!
I admire people like this! With his limitations he accomplishes so much and with such a great attitude. He's probably a great employee. Could he be a candiate for the spirit award the SFA gives out?

I'm not sure what the spirit award is, but he would surely be honored to even be considered. How do we find out what this award is about?

That is ridiculously awesome!
His legal blindness and best attitude make the story great, but forget the spirit award, most importantly he needs an all time achievement award for coolest use of sink cutouts EVER! I have seen so many people, have so many terrible ideas for sink cutouts, make that ALL terrible ideas, and he has erected a ancient society style rock statue garden at his house in them, using them on an unheard of scale. I am sure he has had empathy for his handicap his whole life, but what he has done with sink cutouts is to date the coolest thing anyone of any ability has done.
AJ, I hope you guys drop them off at the house every now and then and he doesn't have to carry them 9 miles on his bike back from the shop

Liked his comment at the end...
When you have something you love, you just keep at it, and you eventually attain something. You keep changing directions and you don't get very far.
Can be humbling sometimes to hear words like that, what a great attitude, and probably the reason a lot of the present company is actually in this business. It's killer to have someone remind us now and then.
Art has a way of doing that, and the artistic minds really have a way of showing a better angle often on things.
Very cool.

Truth be known all of us at the shop forget he has any kind of issue at all. We all totally forget about him being legally blind. We are going digital soon but we will always have a place for him, he can do things with stone that I would have thought impossible. As most artistic people are he sees only opportunity when others see problems. I used to get so mad at him for collecting junk pieces of rock that I threatened to call the hoarders show on him until I saw what he was doing. Pictures don't do justice for what he has made out of thousands of cut outs.

He is on vacation this week and he is spending it in a riverbed somewhere in California looking for rocks. The guy truly can not get enough of stone and rocks. Sometimes I am jealous as he really loves what he does, don't get me wrong I love the stone business I just get tired of the scheduling and all the other office and paperwork crap and I don't get the chance to work with the stone very often anymore.
