Hi guys,
We have been fabricating more and more quartzite over the years (Sea Pearl, Elegant Dune, Villa Romano) and I can't seem to find a blade that can cut these materials efficiently or effectively. I've tried many different companies all claiming that they have the blade I need, but I am not satisfied. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Mike

I Just ran the zenesis black 2 on some taj mahal the key is to run it like you stole it w/ lots off water.
Re: Quartzite bridge saw blade
....Or you could step cut it. These materials, blades, and methods of cutting are discussed many times over in the members section. SFA membership is definitely a great ROI and many would agree.

Re: Quartzite bridge saw blade
We're using a 16" 360 PT from diamond bort. Haven't had any trouble cutting quartzite in a single pass. Feed rate at the same amps goes from 9-11 (nvg etc) down to 5-6 fps. But we get a very good chip free cut with that blade.

Re: Quartzite bridge saw blade
I don't know the details of what the saw is doing when we're cutting, but we recently bought the Weha White Lion blade and it's been doing well. I'll see what amps we're at on the next slab we cut. We're using a Park Yukon

Re: Quartzite bridge saw blade
We just purchased the blade, core bit, and finger bit for Dekton. Haven't put them through stone yet, but I talked with ADI and Tyrolit and was told this is what is working. Will let you know when I do. I can take a brand new drill bit and hand drill 12 holes and its teeth are completely gone with Tajmahal. Hoping to get it done on cnc instead with new tooling.

Are you using the Sigmagranit blade or some other?
We are using the Konig or GST Miter Blade from GranQuartz on Dekton and quartzite. We have found that we need as much water as we can get on the cut. Quartzite -- Taj Mahal and Renoir we step cut on miters, Dekton-- one pass.

Re: Quartzite bridge saw blade
Well, after numerous failed attempts at accessing Diamant Boarts website, I decided to give the White Lion blade from Weha a try. It has one review that said it was awesome on quartzite. I'll let you know what I think as soon as it arrives!

Re: Quartzite bridge saw blade
Perhaps not being able to access Diamant Boarts site was a blessing in disguise. I've been a fabricator for twenty four years and I have to say that the White Lion is the best blade I've come across so far! We're cutting 2" thick Idaho natural cleft quartzite on a Park Sierra both miter and straight cuts in two passes.(So I bought another)

Re: Quartzite bridge saw blade
After reading the comments here I ordered a White Lion blade yesterday. I will see how it performs on mother of pearl in a couple of weeks. Terminator just sent out an e-mail for their new Nano blade for quartzite. I know that Nick P. was involved with testing this blade. How about a report Nick?

We are using the Sigma. I just ran it through some tajmahal today and am not impressed. I got an 18" blade and ran it at 1450rpm since that's what manufacturer recommended. After two passes it is glazed over. Now I have a $400 dekton blade. Awesome better do some dekton work soon.

Re: Quartzite bridge saw blade
Weha has now had the White Lion Quartzite blade for over a year now.
It has proven to be a great great Quartzite blade.
You don't need to change the blades from Quartzite to Granite.
Life is a little shorter on granite. But well worth it on the Quartzite.
We have them running on bridge saws and sawjets between 3'-5' per minute on quartzite.
I know a lot of you SFA members are using it. In fact, it was the SFA guys doing the testing (I gave a bunch away when we introduced them) that showed how well it worked on quartzite.
Now we have them in 14",16",18",24" diameters.
Here is a direct link to the White Lion Blades. http://www.wehausa.com/White-Lion-Diamo ... s/1962.htm
Any questions, please email me: brian@wehausa.com
Thanks
