Hey guys, inherited a Northwood Sawjet recently that needed a lot of maintenance to get it up to 100%. We were able to get most of the saw side issues fixed but still need someone who is familiar with KMT intensifiers to change out all the seals, gaskets, etc to get it running properly. My guys don't have much experience in this area so we were wondering if there was someone any of you knew in the area that had experience doing this kind of thing who would be willing to come in and work on it. We have all the parts needed, just need someone who knew what they were doing to change them all out. Also need someone who knows how to calibrate the overhead lasers. Quite honestly, Northwood has not been much help and the tech they sent out really did not seem to know how to fix much. Alan

I would think that NW would know more about that machine than anyone.

I'm pretty sure that KMT has their own service techs. They should be able to address any issue with the water jet from the intensifier to the nozzle. Northwood should be able to help with alignment/positioning issues.

I think they will even set up a PM program for you on the KMT components.

Re: Need Waterjet Tech in Middle Tennessee
You can also call semyx . They have techs based out of Dawsonville GA I believe. We have used them in the past. They can train your guys on replacing seals etc. This is something that you will need to become self sufficient on. So let them know you want to be trained on it.
You can also buy hi pressure tubing from them and the threading tools as well. That way you can replace all of your own lines as well. They will rupture over time, and while a tech will come do it, again, become self sufficient at it to avoid downtime and expense of the tech for something that once you see how to do it, isn't very difficult of a task.

Depends on the tech. They sent one to us that had no idea what he was doing that we ending up teaching about stone routers and he also cut his hand badly on our machine during his learning phase.Dan R. wrote:I would think that NW would know more about that machine than anyone.

Thanks Brent. That was our experience also with Northwood. They sent us someone who was very inexperienced and spent most of the time on the phone with someone in Louisville asking what to do. Seems we could have done that.

Hey, I wanted to follow up and say that we went with Semyx as David suggested and the guy they sent out did a great job. Very knowledgeable, did great work and trained our guys how to maintain the waterjet. I would highly recommend them and will use them in the future.
