I'm considering to buy a used Breton NC260 or NC400. I found them through one of the used equipment websites.
anyone have any pros and cons about these machines or Breton service.
Also I heard the service rates are really expensive, any independent techs that know how to service and train on a Breton?
thanks

Re: Advise on Breton NC260 or NC400
Hi Jamie,
We purchased a used NC260, two years ago and no major issues so far. We used Breton for the install and training. It was expensive but worth it. Call me anytime if you have more questions.

Re: Advise on Breton NC260 or NC400
It's a Ferrari really good engineering but a bit expensive to maintain.
Breton cnc are really good my two router from them are now 6 and 7 years old
No major issue, we did replace the spindle on the oldest one (Just to have a spare spindle and repair the drawbar)
The design of the machine is really different from American made.
They both have their advantage.
American design their machine to have the least failling parts possible.
The Italian design their machine to have every feature.
The engineering being good there's not much thing that fail but every now and then you will have
A stuck door, a tool guard that doesn't open, a fan for the spindle cooling unit failling, etc.
Their cone design is much more sturdy but require more cleaning
Cone cleaning needs to be done at least once a week ( we do every 2 day)

i'm having constant problems with my Breton, and service is not very helpful. Will you be willing to come to my facility and get my CNC up running correctly for a Fee? I really need to get this running smooth before it bankrupts me.
thanks

I would start with what kind of issue do you have. What machine and year (ROBOCUP or laser)
