Sasso K600 Twin Bed
Hi All
Were about to finalise our order for a Sasso K600 twin bed before we do just want to check with you all with regards to the camera option as we currently use a manual saw and don't have any experience of cameras.
The standard option is one camera on the head, downside of this is it will delay us programming the material for the second bed from what they have informed us.
Second option is to have two cameras obviously will be at a extra cost but advantage is can programme second bed straight away. I think this is the best option but as this is our first CNC saw wanted to get some advice from you guys out there who are using this machine before we decide. Also where is best place to mount these 2 cameras.
We mainly fabricate quartz and don't do any book matching material.
Thanks in advance

Re: Sasso K600 Twin Bed
Here in the US all the K600 owners are programming the slabs ahead of time using slabsmith and alpha cam. If you have the need for a dual table saw, programming the cuts at the machine will choke you.

Re: Sasso K600 Twin Bed
Nearly 100% of our business is quartz. We have two out of 3 saws equipped with cameras. The only time we would use the camera is the odd granite job we get when the slabs are uneven, odd shaped and odd sized or when we are cutting a job from off cuts. Load them all onto the bed and programme away. If nearly all your business is quartz as you say then get them to set up a zero point for you and mark it into the bed. Then just always position your slabs in the same spot each time.
One camera should do you plenty enough. You can still programme ahead with the quartz slabs. When a granite slab comes along that needs the camera it should only add 5 minutes max to your programming time. Thats what I've found.

Thanks for your replies
We do about 20% granite from what we understood the reason for the camera is too get tighter nesting of the slabs so utilizing material better the new software allows you to drag the pieces onto the slab image before cutting. Also highlight any marking and defects on the slabs to avoid, as occasionally quartz slabs can have some also.
Is there anyone out there who has two cameras on a K600 twin bed your input would be appreciated?.

Camera is a waste of time in my opinion. I instead opted for Slabsmith which allows us to program ahead of time and nest ahead of time. Doing anything at the saw on the K600 is a waste of time. Ask Mark... he saw firsthand how much time we wasted

I agree that the camera isn't of much value when weighed against Slabsmith for this machine. But, I could be wrong.UnitedMarble wrote: ↑Mon Dec 11, 2017 1:30 pmCamera is a waste of time in my opinion. Not everything at the saw PC is a waste of time. Drawing trim for cutting and brushing is actually not that difficult at the saw. Also, simple rectangle, circular, and some L shape tops are very quick at the saw. I do these things all the time at the same time my programmer is getting kitchens done in Alpha Cam. I cut 4 shower panels from 3 different slabs of 2cm white quartz & 1 slab of a marble. today on the saw in 2 hours. total slab change, dimension entering, cutting, and unloading. no holes in them, nothing but rectangles though. The other side walls for these showers are bing programmed due to the plumbing fixtures, back walls deductions, and curb notches.

Tony - that is a good call, and you are definitely right! I plowed through a bunch of restaurant tables at the saw earlier this year and it was so easy.
