Re: Equipment to unload closed top container
Be careful with just chains on raw forks as they can and will slip at times. If you can get at least fork sleeves that are notched to allow the chains to lock in place that works better. We used this setup when I was in Atlanta and we only ordered closed top containers. We also kept a second forklift on hand for those bundles that were tight to the wall of the container. We used a smaller 5500lb lift to nudge the bundle over via sliding it a couple inches in order to get the forks of the bigger lift in past the wood bracing and the side wall.
Please be careful dealing with containers. It is dangerous and you must respect the danger involved. Work safely.
