This is something I want to put into the general area. I will also be sending this out to my mailing list as well. Let me know what you think and make sure the events listed are accurate. I would like to get this posted tonight.

Twenty days from now, there is going to be a gathering in Collinsville, IL that is going to turn this industry on it's ear. Trust me when I tell you, NOTHING like this has ever been done before.

Have you ever been to an event where there are containers being unloaded for a safety demonstration?
Have you ever seen bridge cranes loading full slabs onto saws, saw jets and fab center machinery for actual kitchens and vanities to be made in real time?
Have you ever seen actual tops being processed through a line machine?
Have you ever seen your tooling sales rep use the tools he/she sells (that alone is worth the trip )?

If the answer to any of these questions was a no, then you have to be in Collinsville, IL at the Gateway Convention Center on Oct. 7th, 8th and 9th. For more information go to http://www.sfaworkshops.com

A brief description of the itinerary for the event;

Thursday - 9:00am - 5:00pm
Seminars
Live demos of tools (attendee participation is encouraged)
Safe practices of unloading containers (live demonstration)
Real kitchens and vanities being made (all kitchens and vanities are being donated to the local Habitat for Humanity).
Exhibitors to meet and see their products

Friday - 9:00am - 5:00pm
Seminars
Live demos of tools (attendee participation is encouraged)

Friday - Evening (at the Convention Center)
5:00pm - 6:30pm Networking Reception, Raffle and Awards Ceremony. Free beer, soda, water and appetizers
6:30pm - 8:30pm There will be a free buffet dinner for all attendees and exhibitors.
8:30pm - 11:30pm Live Band and more networking.

Saturday - 10:00am - 3:00pm

If this turns out to be an annual event, it would be nice not to time it so close to the Verona show.

This will be an annual event and I believe our dates are already set for the same time next year. Verona has not yet set a date for next year. I agree that it would be better to be a couple of weeks or so different. Problem with this year, this was the only date the Convention Center had available in October. Oncce you get into Nov / Dec it is not really a good date for a show. Due to the amount of interest this has been getting, we expect to move to a larger venue in 2012.

This workshop, imo, would be be topical, pertinent & beneficial to the average USA fabricator than trip to Verona. Verona is a nice place/trip, but what is the real point of going there, a vacation mostly, eh? The workshop is truly designed to be a hands on educational experience for those attending. We hope everyone who is able to attend, does so. No date is ever perfect for everyone.

Anyone and everyone is welcome to attend. However, we are completely out of space for this. When you arrive, go to the SFA booth and ask to speak to a Director. One of us can explain the advantages of sponsorship.

How far is the center from the Dub-tree?
