Has anyone ever laminated glass on onyx? We have a customer who wants to use it for a bar in an upscale restaurant and is worried about the durability of the onyx alone.

Legitimate concern, I believe the glass companies use a double face film, that may be your best place to start.

I have done this a few times we spread the 2 part polyurethane coat over the whole top go over it with a heat gun to get all the air bubbles out and then put the glass on and C clamp all the way around like laminating. Works great and the urithane gives the onyx a nice shinny wet look.

This is commonly called "Liquid Lamination" in the glass industry.
