I love this concept. It eliminates the insurance companies, eliminates gov't mandates and controls and let's members look after members. It is a fraction of the cost of insurance in California. No longer will my premiums be going to birth control, abortions and all the rest of the crap they have added.

The best way around Obama Care is to declare yourself Muslim. As insurance is considered gambling by the their faith, they are specifically excluded from this great law (forcing citizens to buy a product).

Whatever happened to freedom of choice?

It is not a guarantee but if you look at the agreement it is pretty clear that the members agree to pay the bills. If you are happy with your insurance then keep it.

I'm not happy paying around $1,000 a month with a $7,500 deductible for my family. It sucks like never before. They don't even cover most prescriptions. With Medi-Share we will be paying just under $600 with a $2,500 deductible. I'll take my chances. It is a non-profit run by Christians to help other Christians. I don't see the point of an a Christian organization set up to screw other christians... I think we'll be OK.

I expect Medi-Share will have double digit growth for some time. Unfortunately, that will bring left wing attention that will try and shut it down. Can't have the general population creating their own solutions to problems. They might begin to realize they can do it far better than any government ever could.

I like the idea of people solving problems.

The phrase about Christians not screwing over people, is a bit of a Valhalla attitude. I have screwed by many self proclaimed Christians.

Al in all, it does seem to be a better option for health care than ACA.

Here is why I don't think it is a scam. The only money the organization takes is for administration and that is a set fee is known. The rest goes to other's medical bills. I believe they provide you with who's bills are being paid and you can even contact them if you want to provide other support.

Just too bad you can't set something up like this that is non-faith based to solve a problem. Gov't says we know better how to solve your issues than you do.

After a few years and the birth of our 4th child, we are happy with CHM which is built on the same model. It requires a little more paperwork handling, but makes lots more sense than traditional healthcare insurance for our family.
