Exodus from California
Re: Exodus from California
only narcissist's don't see the folly of there own ways . such as filing lawsuits even though the fault falls on the shoulders of the one screaming fowl.
I guess its the way of the world these days racism, hate and stupidity are more and more common place.. push the limits till they push back than cry like a baby and call foul go cry else where

Re: Exodus from California
The liberal legislature is hard at work solving the exodus. They are discussing passing legislation that would allow bars to serve drinks until 4:00 am. This is in order to compete with Florida and other states
Keeping the good paying jobs in CA - rock on Sacramento!!!

Re: Exodus from California
Getting to this one late, but Steven is correct...Cali is losing factories and jobs at an astounding pace, many of which are just starting to see the writing on the wall with all the "fair share" taxes to fund Obamacare and the rest of Santa's goody bag that are kicking in place. The shock and awe that people who don't make north of $250K are seeing these taxes kick in and get passed to them is only getting started and any recovery the State might be seeing in the natural ebb and flow of the Economy will be stymied much like the "lost decade" of Japan when they tried to tax and spend their way out of a recession....didn't work then which I think makes that about 0 for 100 on the times some POTUS or Czar or PM have tried it.
I mean, look at my link about Apple's HQ in the Water Cooler, their new building is coming in at $2000 a sf to build or nearly $6 billion. I'd wager between the "green" initiatives, permitting process and the regulations on even digging a freakin' hole they are at least double what that same building would run up here.
Speaking of up here, South Dakota has long been run by Republicans in both the Legislature and Governor's office. We do send a fair amount of Democrats to DC because we have a lot of Scandinavian types like myself who see pols and their records & accomplishments first before we see party, hence we went 57% for Romney vs. 39% for BHO last time around.
As for our upper midwest Economy, we are on a roll. In Sioux Falls, we have Health Care and Banking as core industries and up in North Dakota they have Oil, both States have a heavy Agricultural presence as well. We are near the bottom for unemployment & crime rates, the State has a decent surplus, the banks are flush with cash, housing and construction are on their way to a record year. I don't give 100% credit or blame to one party, but I can tell you that Republicans have operated on a "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" mindset for decades. We do have some of the poorest counties in the country out on the Reservations and also some of the lowest levels of wages and teacher pay in the Country, and of course both of those voting blocks always go solidly to the Democrats.
What has us worried is that if this Admin gets 100% of their wish list on industries like Oil, Banking and Health Care once they are all knocked down a peg and/or taken over completely by the Feds, all those evil profits which have driven our economy up here will disappear and once again we will see a failed example of socio-economic engineering by the Government, or in other words, we will be California without the Ocean and Hollywood.

Re: Exodus from California
News flash!!! Dodd/Frank Bill nationalized banking. Already done.
Limits on stuff that one would never dream of, all in the name of fairness, but the reality of control.

seriously. You guys should stop watching the news. You will never be able to control what is happening anyway. Government has too much control. Look around. They own us, like it or not.

Re: Exodus from California
All due respect Chris, but as voters we get the government we deserve. I quit consistently watching the mainstream national news when it became apparent I was only getting one side of the story, been that way since Cronkite. However, tuning out until a week before the election, then hoping you can get enough info to make an informed decision on who to vote for is becoming a dangerously flawed paradigm.
I do watch & follow national stories, but I try to get at least 2-3 different versions so I can make my own call to support something or not. If that means listening to Rush or Hannity for an hour I can filter out their bias' as easily as I can Anderson Cooper's. Main difference is Rush & Hanity are up front about where their perspective comes from, Cooper is a hard liberal claiming to deliver news objectively and he assumes you are too stupid to be able to dicern the difference.
