Showing up on time

What is so freaking hard to show up to work on time, we start at 8am and quit time is usually around 5pm

This morning my guy rolls up at 8:20am,

I told the guy: you are late again
Guy goes: you pay me by the hour what is the big deal
I say: You either show up at 8am or call me no later than 8:05am, if I don't get a call by 8:05 take the day off
Guy goes: I need my vacation!!! when can I have a vacation.
I told him: any time you need it , just tell me 2 weeks in advance

what My sarcastic ass really wanted to tell him was: keep showing up late and you going to have one very short.

Very happy with our peeps , no one has been late for work , in years

We have a policy that states:
Late once: warning
Late twice: sent home no pay
Late three times: come get your last check on Friday

We also have a 2 week notification for vacations plus they have to be approved, in case other employees with more seniority already have it off.

We discuss these policies when we hire them and have them sign the agreement.

My last firing was for being late. He tried to collect unemployment but when I told them what his time cards looked like they denied his claim. Lazy dumb ass still lives at home and pays no rent.
