I just found out myself. I knew there was "another shooting" but didn't spend a lot of time thinking about it because it seems to happen all the time now. But one of our drivers just came in and told me the details.

What is the world coming to.

Newtown is about 30 minutes from my home. This is very sad. There are monsters in our world. My prayers go out to all affected.

Very sad to say the least I have tried to put myself in the parents of the victims shoes I just cant imagine how they feel my prayers are going out for them.

Not to turn this into a political post but the gun control advocates are going to use this to push their agenda. Be diligent and help defend our rights to protect ourselves against legislation that will prevent us from defending ourselves against these type of monsters. I wish to God they would incorporate armed gaurds at these schools to aid in prevention of these incidents.

May the Lord be with the families and victims in this tragic time.

This was less than an hour from me as well. Very disturbing indeed. I don't think anyone sane could understand what would make this 20 year old kid drive to a school like that and destroy so many innocent children and their families lives. Its not only the ones he killed but all the ones who had to live through the whole situation will remember it forever. Life isn't some video game. Its one thing to off yourself but why take others with you like that? I just don't get it.

Tragic to say the least, disturbing on too many levels for any sane person.
Our thoughts and prayers to all the families, both with losses and survivors.

The real battle begins today for all of them, to marshall on in life. Some will manage better than others, some will not be able to carry on. All will be profoundly changed, in a negative way from this incident. The loss of live is a tangible loss, the loss of the will of living is less so, let's pray for those survivor's future health as well.

I can't begin to understand the loss that those parents are going through, but it is deeply disheartening to say the least.

I am seeing posts on Facebook and such about gun control. It sickens me that people cannot even focus on burying these children and grieving for the parents and survivors and instead are using the victims as political tools. It makes me ashamed to be not only a human being but an American as well.

What I can't understand is why the children? They are nothing but absolutely innocent in life, nothing but full of potential and love. If he would have walked into the room and asked for a hug they would have come running but to be a worthless piece of shit and gun down kids that had to be absolutely terrified at what was happening, looking for someone to explain to them why this monster wanted to hurt them, and why they were being punished just because he didn't like his mother is beyond comprehension.

Hang his damned dead body in the town square so everyone came go and beat the living shit out of it, nothing is too good for him.

Trying to apply logic to such a situation is impossible, as there is no logic for this type of action.

Hurting the defenseless and innocent is a crime of the most horrendous proportion, imo. A true act of cowardice in the highest degree. Where do I sign up for a whack or two!!!!!

There are people that you should be killed more than once. This coward would be one of them. When I think of what those parents had to go through to walk through the carnage it identify their child it pained me. I realized that my personal problems are negligible when compared to what these families are dealing with this Xmas.

I hugged my two sons yesterday and today things I take for granted.

My heart and prayers go out to the families in this tragedy. May they find peace and comfort celebrating the birth this year.

People this fucked in the head, if they don't kill themselves, need to be put down. The lunatic from the CO theater shootings, needs to be put down. He did it, there is no question. They arent trying to find the "truth". Put him down and move on. Nothing good, ever, can come out of locking him up in a psych ward.

I spent most of yesterday holding my kids and telling them I love them...I wanted to tell them that everything was going to be okay and they would be safe, but I couldn't because I don't believe it, it's not going to be okay, and they aren't safe.

I asked myself the same question...why children? I can't come up with an answer, but believe me, I cannot post my opinion on what should be done to people who hurt children.

My children have been trained since they were very little to not only defend themselves physically, but to shoot handguns, rifles and bow, they are quite capable of handling themselves, I can teach them to protect and defend themselves from just about anything, but there is no way for me to teach them to protect themselves from a situation like this, and that terrifies me.

I learned last week that their are several 1000 kids in my immediate area tat are hoe schooled, like 10's of 1000s. I a shocked by this statistic. It certainly seems more and more a viable option in this day and age.

whats going to upset me most is that this will turn into a spring board for gun control and that is not the problem here.

I don't what what happened here to get lost in political agendas. I want to see the actual problem be addressed instead of finding an object to blame find the real source and work on fixing it. We spend to much time trying to find "something" to blame

my family and i went to the range today and there was an F class shoot going on at the 500 yard range it was a very somber mood to say the least.

Having been away from home and news for a few days, I return to fin d out about this, PLUS that my son's best friend (a Marine recently back from Afganistan) was shot and killed by another young Marine that "he knew" just off-base from where he (my son's friend) lived. No details yet. My son is ALL kindsa tore-up. I knew this young man, admired and respected him. He attended a family-reunion of ours this past summer. He's been a guest in my home many times. We have healing to be done. Life seems to be getting crazier and crazier.
My strong and faithful prayers go out to all affected in Connecticut, in Oregon, and with my son's buddy's family, and all of us.
I believe that solid faith in God IS the beginning of healing from such as this. I go now, again, to practise and share it as best I am able.

We home school. There are a lot of people doing it now. Mostly for moral and character reasons and not so much a safety thing. I'm happy to answer any questions on homeschooling if anybody has them.

the only solice I find in dealing with some things we see (which pale in comparison to this tragedy) is that God's plans are soooooooo much bigger than ours that we can't expect to understand them. His ways are higher than ours, and who is man to pretend that he can understand the mind of God.

I cannot reconcile the things I know to be true, with the things I see sometimes. I move forward by knowing that in my sight picture I only have %1 of the information. God has the other 99 and he is going to be responsible for making things right.

And he will.
