So being a southerner (to you people), I have never had poutine. I think that it is something that should catch on here. French fries and gravy...how could it not!?!?! Gravy is one of those things like bacon....it makes everything better.
Is there something else you add to it, or can I just make fries and cover them in gravy and make my own?
The world needs to know!

Back in when I was in grade 10 at St.Paul Regional High (in Alberta), you could buy a plate of fries and gravy in the cafeteria- and they really loaded it up - for a $1.25. No chees curds but man did it hit the spot. We used to just add ketchup. Still really good, eh.
Oh, you've not lived until you've had blueberry perogies, sauteed in cream.

True Poutine consists of the following:
French Fries prepared in Peanut Oil and served hot in a waxed paper bag
covered in a slightly spicy brown gravy
then layered with cheese curds.
mmmmmmmmmmmmm You know you've got it right when you can feel your arteries clogging.

So....you get a paper bag full of fries and gravy. Sounds good, but messy. How do you eat it? Can you drink the gravy out of the bag when the fries are gone?

There is a nice little fry shack around the corner from me that get the cheese curds from Quebec. Is that close enough?

LAME!!!! Ontario is the closest one to me. I don't want to have to go on an epic voyage for this stuff. I could go to Ontario for lunch.Burkie wrote:Best poutine is in Sherbrooke Quebec.
