So, a few months back my fair city, Grand Rapids, Michigan, was in a list of "top ten dying city's in the US".

Well some people here didn't take that very well. In response, a few got together and created the "Grand Rapids Lip dub."

It is a music video shot in one take. No editing. All the participants (like 5000) are "lip dubbing" to a live version of American Pie by Don McLean. So far it has over 1.5 million hits on youtube and has been on the Today Show, The Wall Street Journal, CNN and many more. I was conveniently out of town during the filming

That was an awesome response to the negative media. Your city is to clean to be dying.

I love GR. My best memory as of late was taking a leak at Mulligans and a very large black fella asked if I had a gun to sell him because "us people from Detroit and us from Grand Rapids need to stop fightin' and help each other out"

Every time I go to GR, and don't see Cevin, it costs me about $500 for a weekend to hang with my buddies because they are all broke.

All in all, it is a great city and I almost ended up working for Gentex, which is close. I chose the D in its place and will live with enjoying GR a couple times a year.
