Re: Scandinvent
I think Ian Morris from SSC countertops runs Scandivent machinery. Maybe he could help/advise you. He is a user on here

Re: Scandinvent
We run 3 Scandinvent machines currently. 2 CX4 routers and an SX5 saw.
I cant speak much for the c3 as we have no experience with it, though it does have some resemblance to a smaller version of a cx4. We really only purchased these machines due to smaller form factor and the fact that our salesperson was also the tech. All of our maintenance/service is done by Robert from Kristech(Kristech is his username on the forums) hes a great guy and always gives us great service. He might be able to answer more questions for you. I dont believe he sells Scandinvent machines anymore, though.
We very rarely deal with Scandinvent unless we need replacement parts. Which they rarely have in stock and sometimes take ages to respond to emails. We switched our machines from the ScandInvent proprietary software to Easystone about 2.5 years ago and haven't looked back. Their software was definitely a bit archaic, but might be better suited to the simpler applications of a sink cutout machine.

Re: Scandinvent
Thanks for the feedback , I would love to get with the service person and see if they still are able to help me .Yes you are correct I sent an email last week and have not heard back from the manufacturer. Is the tooling an issue for you ? I will probably just do finger bits and hand polish ?
Thanks again.
Thanks again.

Re: Scandinvent
The C3 might take special tooling, I'm not certain. The cx4s use the same tools as any other machine mounted on regular ISO 40 cones ( i think they might be the same as bavelonni )
Kristech will definitely have more information. However, we are on the west coast so he might not be able to provide in person service to you in North Carolina, but hopefully he can reccommend a tech in your area.

Re: Scandinvent
Hi Bob, I sent you an email with the manual. the C3 spindle has a 1/2" gas thread and it is best to use the incremental router bits. it is not a problem setting it up with tooling. I will be happy to answer any questions you have.

Re: Scandinvent
We use it daily to cut sink cutouts, 1/2’’ gas connection, 20mm incremental bit. Hand polish after.
It’s not the fastest out there ,but fairly reliable. On those few occasions when we got stuck, Robert had always there to help us trouble shoot the issues.

Re: Scandinvent
How long does it take to drop an oval sink, and how long does tooling last ?
Thanks for feedback

Re: Scandinvent
Dropping a sink should be universal with a cnc. Tooling should also be pretty universal.
We have a small Ghines (smaller than the Scandivent. It drops a sink in about 5-6 minutes.
Tooling seems to last forever, with the machine dialed in.

Dan
I’m considering the Ghines as well ,actually may be the front runner ,overall are you still happy with your units ? 45 mins total for an oval sink start to finish fairly accurate ?
Thanks for sharing

Re: Scandinvent
Pretty close to that. There is always some lag time for us to change tooling.

Re: Scandinvent
The sysmatic I have sold here in Australia has been running 2 years without any issues, you can get the "FAST" quick adaptor to make tool changing quicker, customer here has done runs of 20 vanities in one day, you should be able to drop and polish a sink in 20min inc programming

Re: Scandinvent
I recently purchased one of these and I am having issues getting any type of production out of this machine.I am running at the factory recommended settings and when i try and run a granite vanity it is loud as hell and vibrates so badly that we have to go back and retighten all screws and bolts. I am also only getting 1-2 sinks per finger bit.It runs ok for 2cm quartz but granite has been a no go.I am also finding out that the company I purchased this unit from has little to no experience with this equipment and as with many other lease purchased pieces of equipment once the funds are paid out the crickets come out.
I could really use some educated help.
Any and all suggestions will be greatly appreciated

Re: Scandinvent
Bob. We have been informed only recently, to our surprise, that you still cannot use 100% of the possibilities of the machine. We programmed a visit of our technician by mid of July, which was then canceled. We understood, the issues were solved. In any case, as scheduled, our technician will be at your premises on September 7 and 8 to verify and to resolve definitively the situation.

Re: Scandinvent
It was not canceled at my request , I was told by your vender ( infinity Diamond ) that the Tech was not available till September.I have heard some very positive things about The Ghines company and your actions are showing that you care about your customers .A lesson to be learned by all ,not only do you need to chose quality manufacturers but the representative whom you buy from matters a great deal as well ,great company with poor representation still leads to an unfavorable experience.
I look forward to working this out with your tech.
