I am just wondering if anybody knows if there is a temperature sensor on a Brembana Maxima Spindle and if so how to read it?
Our machine has downtime throughout the day and I'd like to know when a warmup may or may not be required a the day goes on..

Thanks

N.

There is a high temp sensor inside the spindle but it is not readable.

If your machine is off for a few days and it's been cold in your shop, a short warm up cycle is recommended. This is to neutralize the internal temp of the grease and bearings. multiple time per day is not necessary.

Considering where you guys are located a warm up cycle is probably required year round!

You could just make a simple spindle warm up cycle and run it whenever you think it has been sitting too long.

For the record, we have never used a warm up cycle on our machine and we typically have spindles go over 10,000 hours and they usually are changed out for things other than bearing issues.
