3 Step Polishing System (WET) -Feedback Needed
Terminator has just developed its new 3 Step Polishing System and would like to hear first hand what your thoughts are. During the most recent SFA workshop held in Palm Desert at DeMille Marble & Granite, we received some feedback, however we are looking for more on this specific product. We will be selecting 8 shops that currently use a 3 step polishing system or those curious to try one-the only thing we ask in return is some detailed honest feedback. If you are interested in participating in this testing please send me an email with the following information (Michael@continentaldia.com):
1) You Name
2) Company Name
3) Do you currently use a 3 step polishing system (yes/no)?
4) Email Address
5) Phone Number we can reach you at
Thank you,

Re: 3 Step Polishing System-Feedback Needed
I would be willing to try them for you. You have all my info and I will give you feedback. We have tried 3 step pads and still revert to our imported pads because they don't work for us as we had hoped. I would be willing to give it another shot since Eric has converted me on pretty much everything else we use.

Re: 3 Step Polishing System-Feedback Needed
Michael,
I'd be willing to try them also. We have tried a bunch of different 3 step pads. Some we liked, some not so much.
But.......
If they are $25+ per pad, don't bother. It's cheaper to have the guys run thru the 6/7 pads instead.

I would like to try them also. I saw James use them at Cams but would like the opportunity to try them myself. We have tried several and the conquers worked the best for us

Re: 3 Step Polishing System-Feedback Needed
I got a set in today. You guys are sleeping on this one.
I will give them a shot next week. I don't know what to expect from them since I have never used any, so it will probably be a pass fail thing.

Don't worry they are not $25 bucks and higher. Dustin has a set he's testing for us and Michael can tell you the pricing on them if you want to give them a try. The verdict is still out, but we are getting good feedback from the ones we already have in the field as testers. We just got a batch of the new formulation in today, tweaked based on customer feedback, as I spoke with Vincent this afternoon. So if that tells you anything we really appreciate our customers taking their time in helping us help you. Give Michael a call and he should be able to set you up. (800) 595-1237

Re: 3 Step Polishing System-Feedback Needed
Yep I was just about getting around to giving a post on them. These things are fricking unreal. I hate polishing! But these things make it sooooo fast. I haven't really noticed any more wear on the 1. I break the edges with a 50 grit though then go to 1,2,3. It probably is saving the 1, but man it is sooo nice to just bust out a polish. Not to mention they are wicked flexible. I have been using them on Quartz and Stone with awesome results.

Re: 3 Step Polishing System-Feedback Needed
I started using them today with great results. They are fast and the number 1 is not as wicked as others. I broke the edges with a 50 like Dustin said.
Obviously not sure about the life yet, but I will be buying them if they dont go nuts with the price. They work nice in corners.

Re: 3 Step Polishing System-Feedback Needed
Polished about 60 lf and A sink cutout. Under half of the 1 and 2 but the 3 is over half. They are fast and shine nice. the number 1 is not for rounding anything so a 50 comes in to break edges.
What are you others guys finding?

Just got ours today. I turned off the polishers on my next piece coming off the CNC to see how these handle.

Re: 3 Step Polishing System-Feedback Needed
Mark happened to stop in this morning after I polished some Caledonia splash. Did 21' of that, then tried a small piece of Atlantic black. Used a beat 60 grit and no buff pad. Very good results and depth of color on both stones. The pads are more aggressive, but don't grab, which means less effort and better control. Pads seem more flexible than the other 3-step set that I have, but have not used them in corners yet.
We've been using a 3-step pad on the Pro-Edge with good results, except for blacks. We have another set coming that we'll try there.
Out of the gate, these are the best 3-step pads that I've used. Time will tell on wear.

Re: 3 Step Polishing System-Feedback Needed
I've been working with these pads for a little more than a week. I can tell you they are better than the conquers we were all talking about a few months ago. I like the flexibility of the pads. They work well corners. They also seem to be holding up well. As Justin said you will need to use a 50 pad to break corners as the #1 pad is not as aggressive as others are. I also found that you can run each pad with the same pressure and water amount which helps to keep the set from wearing unevenly. I look forward to see what others find. Group buy?
Thanks for giving me the chance to test these

Re: 3 Step Polishing System-Feedback Needed
I just got a set in three days ago.
Like others mentioned, they are much more flexible then the conquerors.
It took me about an hour to polish a 3 by five foot island with a half inch bevel.
I went from 120 sandpaper to the number one and it popped a really nice shine.
Gonna try it on some ES soon.
They look to be a great pad and timesaver.

I just used my gifted pads and have to "Ditto" everything you said!
I normally don't polish myself but I committed to try these and used a 100 pad to break edges and did about 25 linear feet of Vyara 3cm today. I'm keeping track of usage and will report back again after further use.

Re: 3 Step Polishing System-Feedback Needed
We found on light stones, coming off the cnc 4th diamond, 3 pads later, no line high shine polish. Did have 1 of the little resin blocks pop off right away with the number 2 pad. We will be polishing some Verde Pearl and Blue Pearl 1.4 roudn edges with them today and again on Friday, so I'll be able to see how they do on darker stones. First impression, nice. Need to track wear though.

Re: 3 Step Polishing System-Feedback Needed
We will be testing them out tomorrow and this weekend on some copper canyon full bull and taupe full bull. Will post results.
Are you guys running all 3 after the 4 metals? We usually polish 800 up on V, maybe 400. I don't polish so I will have to check with the guys, but I think just 800 up.
