I dunno what else you could tweek on this thing to make it more formatable..mitering on the 138 format is all i can think of that is missing...Otherwise it's really moving towards the only one machine solution.

For a Non Fabcenter owner I have a question. On the shuttle table system how are you cutting interior radius corners like for an L shape? Is it left as an oversize block or are you able to drill and fingerbit with the slab sitting on the substrate? Same questions would apply for really any radii.

From a machining standpoint on eased edge I see the oscillation slightly pausing at the top and bottom of the stroke. Is this setup we are seeing normal, and is the edge still mostly line free. My machine (Intermac) does osciallate but I dont have any Z profile tools other than routers and pos 1 breakers to try out the concept to eliminate the lines.

David it can function just like a sawjet..excpet it defaults to the fingerbit instead of the waterjet. We do it this way about 50% of the time. Other times we just "block" out the shapes and finish radius work on the router side. It really depends on the nest of the job..But we have the option to utilize material very close the efficency of a sawjet. For the price, and especially coupled wit slabsmith software, it is simply astonishing how efficient you can use a slab. We've honestly cut small jobs where the reminants filled 2 five gallon buckets.

Just a different view point ,but what about a killer all in one like that but larger! LOL. Seriously Robbie what about making it where you put a slab down cut it out on one side and the pods can be set up on the other side while being cut out. Then once the parts are cut and done, the bridge could have a suction cup system on it to pick up the parts then shuttle them to the back where the pods are already set up and placed on the pod (would have to be right side up) then commence to profile and polish while the other side is being cleaned and a new slab being placed?

Just a thought! Would really be a no touch system. But either way I am sure you could crush some stone and enjoy life with the set up you got now!

Impressive machine, kudos all the way around. You could cut slabs one day and feed the cnc and line machine the rest of the week.

We have thought of same machine and we could build anything anyone would like to have but, we are trying to remain at a price point with the fabcenter.

Trask is exactly right. We have automatic functions set up so you can choose to saw all the way or use the combo saw and finger bit.

I love that saw head robbie....Cool way to go about it.......

I was super impressed with the saw head when I saw it in vegas.

The only thing that turned me off to the fabcenter concept before was running the saw head through the spindle. With all I hear about people replacing spindles without pushing such a large motor around, I got nervous.
