I finally got a smartphone (Android), but there are already a handful of helpful Apps that I've downloaded to help me in my job. There have been a few threads with subjects dedicated to one app or another. I know there are even more Apps for the iPhone/iPad folks.

Can we make a sticky with links to the most useful/helpful business or stone apps that others have downloaded?
Maybe even two threads - one for Apple, one for Android?

I'd prefer it not be a generic "favorite apps" thread, but more to let others here find out about business/contracting/stone specific apps and not coupon or social media sites.
I was really looking for folks to post those hidden gems that we might not find out about otherwise.

I'm an Apple junkie, no surprise.
A few others not already mentioned.

Sign-n-Send is a good one I've used several times for signing contracts or marking up docs while on the go. There is a free lite version too.

PhotoMeasures is a great one for taking pics and posting as well as editing dimesions and will send as a jpg or pdf.

I'm not totally anti-Apple, but I don't like supporting companies that tell ME what I am allowed to use on MY equipment that I buy. You buy an iPhone.....you can only get software (legally) from iTunes (Apple). Kinda like the Big Brother scenario.

Apple is a trend-setter and develops great products, but I don't agree with their TOS on software. I own a few iPods, and they work great, but they only play music. Not that much that I might want to change on them.

Android, by comparison, is open-source development. You can get (legal) software from anywhere. If I were a programmer, I could write my own program to perform a specific task - and sell it to others. Downside may be with software quality control. Some software has the potential to be buggy or virus-laden, but I haven't found that yet. Got a Droid 2 and an oversized battery - no more problems with battery time for me running 2.3.3 (Gingerbread).

I did not mean they were bad just that they were posted a little while back and everything changes so fast with this type of tecno stuff. Some may be obsolete, or already improved upon.

this has been a super handy app latly. Works great off the phone. Have yet to try it on the tablet. Easy as taking a picture and some minor editing and your done. actually works as fast as my HP 5510 once you get the hang of it. And it mobile. And it paperless Save it to the cloud and its always right there.

Evernote and Dropbox are great, but they're already on just about every "Top 10" list of apps for both Android and Apple users.

PDA Net It is a USB Tether, bluetooth and wifi Hotspot
When you select wifi it take you to the App FoxFi.
Both of these are free but the FoxFi has a pay version for $7.00, which make it unlimited Data.
And it runs at 4g which we have here.
Good bye air card and hotspot (verizon ain't going to like me )

Theres a lot of helpful apps! Depending on how many install crews you have going check out linxup. Its a gps service that helps with logistics and fleet management.
