Hello,
I am in need of a 6cm OGEE bit, needs to be like 1 1/4" DEEP. We are redoing a table top for a customer
who has a 6cm ogee bullnose edge. We can shape the bullnose by hand, but need the 6cm ogee bit. Very rare, I know.
I've called Terminator and have checked with Regent and GranQuartz, no one makes CNC router bits for this anymore. If ANYONE has an old bit, I will pay for it and return it to you!! Thanks!
Andy, in Tualatin, Oregon.

Andy,
Is it a straight top or curved? You could possibly see if someone with a 5 axis saw and profiling software can shape it for you and then you would just need to polish it.

Re: 6cm ogee CNC bit
Are you trying to make a 6cm F/V (OG over Full Bull) ?
We do this all the time in 2 steps, run a long nosed 3cm open OG bit on one piece, and separately run a 3cm full bull and then laminate the two together.
Unless I am missing something, wouldn't be the first time.

It's curved/contoured. It's a funky top. It's 2cm, double laminated and then an ogee bullnose put on. The ogee is super deep though, it goes back 1 1/4" to the transition line, and that's the problem.

Yes, it's an F/V edge detail. The problem is that the transition line on the ogee goes back 1 1/4". It's super deep. Cannot complete the bullnose with our current 3cm ogee bits, which only go back about 5/8".

Re: 6cm ogee CNC bit
That sounds like a custom/special order bit. I believe ADI can make them but it will take some time. Some of the old manual routers have some pretty big wheels you can get. 1.25" is a pretty good step, maybe someone will have some of the tooling so you can get the basic profile and hand finish the rest. Hope you get some $$ for the extra time you're going to spend on it.Andrew Coleman 16 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 22, 2020 11:09 amIt's curved/contoured. It's a funky top.
