i wonder what would happen if i put my map gas torch to that glass for about a minute ?

I don't know too many kitchens that have torches in them

Glass is tougher than you think. It will not do anything if you hold a torch for a few seconds but if you are talking minutes it is gonna do like stone I burnt did it is going to crack.
